How long until the narrative starts to pivot back to 'Frenkie de Jong' is the missing piece' again? It's been a while

Looking at their signings, Mbueno being a perfect example, who insisted that he only wanted to sign for the rags, suggests that the contract/salary they are able to get is the prime reason for signing rather than what they might achieve in titles/cups etc.

Too many of their signings fail to achieve anything like success and their careers drift into mediocrity.

Piss poor judgement from the club and a lack of footballing ambition rather than money from the players ultimately end up in a poor overall outcome for both parties.

Seemingly so obvious to everybody apart from the club and their signings.
Yes. It really is piss poor judgment and Shrek called the pisscan out for it. What was it he said?

"The club lacks ambition"

I've mentioned this before, but it's worth repeating. If the rags don't get their shit together in the next five years they'll be competing with the Saudi league for players.

The rags in their desperation to negotiate will tell the player "we'll match their offer of £400,000.00 per week, and we can offer you premier league football and a chance to play in EFL and FA cup competitions"

I don't know about you, but I'm living my best life watching that club stumble from chaos to catastrophes.

A picture paints a thousand words.

The caption compo for this is easy...

Omar - (shakes his head) what have i fucking done?
Scruffy Jim (checking his share portfolio) - what have I fucking done?
GPC - (grunting) what have I fucking done...? nurse nurse I've shat ma pants!

I think the funny thing is that Amorin was probably the right manager. But they still need to replace at least 6 players with proper world class players. But as we see ourselves world class players are few and far between these days. So they'll get a new manager and continue the cycle.

Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Bruno... all should have been replaced long ago.

That said their only really decent addition of late seems to be Mbuemo.
Only 6. Have they got a one player who could play in a title challenge?

I heard Goldstein on Talksport or whoever say “the job is too big for Amorim.” I hear others say they need to sign some quality players but it’s hard to sign good, young ones because of the pressure that comes from playing there, and that things are a “mess” so young players can’t thrive.

Isn’t the real problem that the club is in fact now too shit to attract a good manager, and good players aren’t not thriving because of “pressure” or “the mess” but because they are too shit a club to attract good players?

Isn’t this much more logical?
