They are on an upward trend imo. Don't think they win a title under Amorim but they can finish top 4-6 this season and go deep in the cups again from next season. Think once Amorim has another summer under his belt they could be regular top 4-6 finishers once more, which isn't exactly what they want but it's on the way to their ideal destination.

Since those comments Ratcliffe made about giving Amorim three years no matter how much people might want him sacked, in all competitions they've P11 W5 D4 L2. In that time they've gone away to Liverpool (W), Spurs (D), Palace (W), and Villa (L). Things could be improved but Amorim has definitely stopped the rot and steadied the ship for the time being.

Lammens
De Ligt Maguire Shaw
Diallo [new CM] Fernandes Dalot
Cunha Mbeumo Mount

There is something in that system. Casemiro and Ugarte are nowhere near mobile enough to do the job Amorim wants, which is why they're still a work in progress, and Mount can't really be trusted to stay fit for more than 2-3 months at a time. But they are building a decent squad with decent options from the bench. No threat to us yet, but it's improving.
Sorry a decent team.
With maguire.
Mount.
Diallo and dalot ??

Seriously pal stay off the sherry

Nothing wrong with having opinion pal.
At least you are looking at teams in some detail, unlike others.
The problem is at United there is no football culture. The 1st team play to a system under Amorin, but the club have not adopted it throughout.
Lemmens, is so weak on his left side, never try to reach with his left.
Maguire and Shaw at the tail end of careers, Dalot is average.
The Defence is a leaking bucket.

I cannot fault the commitment of the players, and they have improved from a very low base. However if the commitment and energy drops and remember only 1 game a week ATM they will dip again.
8th.

Tend to agree. Their goals against is one of the worst in the league and their improvement is from a very low base, still inconsistent. The league is very tight so I think it flatters them at the moment.

All the more damning that they've got one game a week and still look like a mid table team plus Fernandes.

Mid CHAMPIONSHIP table.......

They are no threat until they sort out their horrible business model

Why are they after Semenyo? Makes no sense

They spent £200mil on Mbeumo (RW), Sesko (CF) & Cunha (LW) in the summer, and that doesnt include Mount who has always shown his best off the left and Amad who is a winger shoehorned into a winger back role

Casemiro legs aren't there, Fernandes isnt going to do the dirty role so hes so isolated. Its such a huge issue for them

And then they play Amad, Dalot and Dorgu st Wingback? Just not even close to being good enough

There best back 3 includes Yoro whos still a kid and Luke Shaw....they are so mismanaged, and before we get onto their keepers

And they go after Semenyo...most likely to play him at wingback

They need a new DM and a couple defenders, not another winger

I don't believe for a minute that they are after Semenyo - it's just media talk to keep them in the frame and to get clicks. He's obviously coming to City and going nowhere else.

( Off topic, threadwise, but what's more, whereas some have said he's not good enough for City, I'm sure he is and with his worth ethic under Pep's tutelage, he could become a monster of a player with us. Again, £65M fee could be another "snip." )

Very sorry to hear Bruno Fernandes has injured his hamstring trying to free himself from a mousetrap he was caught in - hope the bit of cheese was worth it and that he's better soon.
Simple simon at the bbc….

Sources have said privately they believe the 31-year-old will return for the Manchester derby with City at Old Trafford on 17 January, which would mean a five-match absence.
