Serious question. Obviously, they'll pay a King's ransom to get a "quality" manager in. And, like it or not, they are a world famous name/brand/franchise. But, if one of those quality managers was to look at the situation coldly, why would they go there? The infrastructure/hierarchy is a total mess, the squad is bang average, and the stadium is a crumbling wreck. Spurs (when Frank eventually gets the bullet) would be, on paper, a more attractive proposition. Yes; the same issues mentioned above apply to Spurs as well (not the stadium, obviously), but they have the attraction of being in London, which might be a factor for some managers.
To top up their pension pot. Come in and get a payout 12 months later :)

First Grimsby, now Brighton

If that isn't a case of The Seagulls following The Trawlers I don't know what is :-)

Every young, ambitious manager should be interested in the job. It's an opportunity for them to show what they can do.

Let's face it; they'll keep throwing money around until someone eventually succeeds there (at some point in the hopefully distant future). They'll then throw even more money around. It's modern football.

It's a poisoned chalice until Ferguson pops his clogs and stops hanging around like a bad smell. It was almosr exactly the same when Matt Busby retired.

They'll go for Southgate or Glasner. Either would only be doing it for money. If neither take the job, they'll probably just go back to Ole at the wheel.
No matter who they get as manager they’re about 8/10 years off challenging for titles….

Turned off after the first 7 minutes. Thought Brighton were gonna get bummed. Turned on to see Brighton 2 nil up. Within a minute rags equalised. Turned off again immediately.

Thank me later lads
I did better than that.

I didn’t watch any of it, until rat face was about to take the corner that Sespit scored from. As soon as the ball went in the net, I turned off again.

To be fair, we've been shitting bricks that that will happen ever since GPC called it quits! Agree re Ferguson hanging around the club. I'm old enough to remember the nonsense you describe re Busby. O'Farrell and McGuinness never stood a chance with Busby "upstairs". The story at the time was that Busby was down at The Cliff most days watching training. I mean, WTF. Paisley had a similar problem with Shankley at Melwood. In the end, he allegedly went to the board and asked them to ask Shankley to keep away from the training ground. In the end, he apparently went to Everton’s training sessions, complaining that Everton made him feel more welcome than Liverpool. Like Ferguson, Shankley couldn't recognise that his time has been and gone.
