Apologies if question been asked but how can they take friendlies mid season to generate income? Would that not be against the PSR regulations ? Clubs that are struggling could just get an investor to organise a match to generate huge sums so how can it be legal and why has no one else ever done it ?
Didn’t we go to Abu Dhabi for warm weather training and a friendly one year?

I don't really get this sentiment. Big =/= successful right this second. There's still plenty of metrics by which United can call themselves one of the world biggest clubs.

Number of trophies won, stadium size/attendances, revenue, transfer spending, global fanbase.

Them being so shit for so long is enjoyable precisely because they're one of the biggest clubs in the world.

If they weren't one of the biggest clubs in the world, and judged by that standard, they wouldn't even be doing badly. It's because they're one of the biggest clubs that watching them fail over and over and over again is fun. Otherwise they'd just be Birmingham City.
If Morgan is dismissing United as being 'not big' , then what criteria is he using ...because other than Arsenal currently leading the PL, there's been diddly to indicate that his own team is anything 'big' using the same criteria he appears to be using for united.
It's can't be crowds (else united wouldnt be big), it can't be trophies (they are both lacking now - and if it's historical...ha!), so the only criteria Morgan is using is recency bias of this season (and at a stretch the past few of bottlers Arsenal being 2nd).

On any reasoned (which maybe the issue...) arguement, if he's saying united aren't 'big', he presumably is implying that arsenal are "'big'...which can only lead us to conclude that City are "massive" ;-)

A Blast from the Past!!
" McKenzie!!"
Hutchinson looks sublime, some nice touches from Dave Bennett sporting a belting afro.. raw Power and pace of an 80s Derby from Maine Road.
Helen ringing her bell in the North Stand
Bobby Mac should have scored early on
Dennis tueart is sub warming up
Gerry Gow looks menacing.....but from the footage shown..it's all about the class of one Tommy Hutch.one of my fav players of all time. Loved this team .

Steady.

I think you should be careful about using that last phrase

:-D

Wow!!
But do you agree Dave Bennett was not offside in the 1st min of the, match, linesman was trigger happy on a raw ferocious Maine Rd atmosphere and wrongly put his flag up ? Bennett was well pissed off as he had Kevin Moran on the run...and the utd centre back knew it; )

That’s exactly what Bobby Manc did, when he arrived at Etihad.

It was immediately apparent that he had been working on tightening up the defence, and it consequently led to us conceding less goals.

To paraphrase the Septics: attack wins games; defence wins titles.
Indeed.
And it's what Howard Kendall did too from day one at City.
Stop the goals being conceded.
Utds last manager,I forget his name, there's been so many recently...who didn't really want the job,..finally took it and decided to just shoehorn some crazy tactical formation on a bunch of pub team defenders.Big mistake amigo...

Worrying that if other teams notice that utd are profiting from being ditched out of the FA cup, then more may try it.
Two games in Saudi would lead to more revenue than Macclesfield away and Stoke City away fixtures for example in the next two rounds of the FA cup.
Imagine the faux outrage if we did this. We'd be accused of circumventing ffp

The award of the biggest **** who arse licks United on Sky Sports News goes to Rob Dorsett.

He’s come out with some right shit today.

Carrick has played a blinder in getting this job.

Holland as his assistant is a major coup.

He’s even produced a detailed diary of his first day at United ffs.

I’m just waiting for Kaveh’s assessment on United’s transfer business like he famously did a few years ago.
Carrick has played a blinder tbf.

3 shit seasons pretending to be a coach at Middlesbrough and now being paid 10x as much to pretend to be a coach for these cunts.

The PL will give them an “exemption”.

A job he was offered because nobody even half decent wanted it.
Says it all when his main competition was someone they sacked just over 4 years ago.

My first ever City kit & whilst I grew out of the shirt the blue shorts lasted about 4 years so I have this strong affection to the blue shorts & I grew up thinking white wasn’t right.
Same, I loved the kits with the sash, mainly white, or, mainly dark blue, but loved the full light blue kit with white trim, just felt special to me at the time. Was it Umbro then, or am I as expected, misremembering?

£50m black hole at Man Utd

Edit: Boring contents. Refers to reduction in gate revenue.
