Unlikely City fans

I think this thread has veered off topic slightly. It's supposed to be unlikely blues...

Some one said Johnny Marr. He's from Wythenshawe, who else would he support ?

Rick did become a City fan after coming so often with Oliver his son .... Who now lives in Chile with his girlfriend from there ..... still watches us all the time and is 100% Blue.

Bun E. Carlos, drummer from ''the best f*cking rock band you will ever see'' (TM) Cheap Trick was converted by me in the late 1990's and we are his 'soccer' team he now follows ...

You, sir, are awesome : ) Would love a 12 string bass a la Tom Peterson.

Susan Bookbinder -radio 5 live broadcaster.
Howard Davies- used to be Deputy Governor of B of E.
Johnny Marr.
Mike Pickering from M-People (I think).
Mike Pickering is probably the most loyal out of the celebrity fans in terms of being noticed at away games for decades.
Howard Davies is pretty loyal. I was talking to him outside Ewood Park when we played there in the FA Cup a few seasons ago. He'd come up from London with his son but without tickets.

Prince Harry

Sorry, got confused, wrong thread, thought this was about people who look like City players

John Stapleton would come into that catergory too, seen him at loads of aways

Lee Dixon went to school in Wilmslow,he was a blue then

Stapleton is/was on Superbia, so of course goes all the time now, but not so noticeable 10/15 year ago, like 2/3rds of regular away goers now.

Rory McIlroy's dad is a blue. He's not famous, but being from Northern Ireland and having a son that supports United makes him a pretty unlikely City fan.

Aaron Rodgers the Green Bay quarterback started supporting us because he liked our kit on FIFA and now watches our games regularly.

Clive Myrie from BBC news is a blue and finds it quite hard to maintain BBC levels of impartiality at times ;-)

Has anyone got the clip of him pissing himself when City appointed Pep Guardiola? One of my favourite ever City related clips!

The fella who owns Ryanair, Michael O'Leary, isn't he a blue? or is he just trying to piss off the rag fans who fly his air busses to all their home games?

He wanted his two lads to be centre forwards for City. I think he chose City for the underdog image we had in those days, when Ryanair was getting pissed on by the likes of AerLingus, BA and Virgin.

JP McManus and John Magnier were major shareholders in Man Utd before selling out to the Glazers in 2004. Dermot Desmond is the key player at Celtic but there are few other Irish investors at football clubs across the water.

In 2003, the Sunday Independent revealed that O'Leary had been offered the chance to buy a stake in Manchester City.

"I wrote back a very nice letter saying, 'Thank you very much, I've been a life-long supporter of Man City. They've broken my heart on many occasions -- but I'll confine my support to going to Maine Road twice a year," he told the Sunday Independent.

"Can you imagine buying a controlling interest in an English team? You'd be all over the back pages of the papers."
