to be fair,it wasn't built in twelve years either.We need to give the Tories more time to turn the country around. They've only had 12 years. Rome wasn't built in a day.

‘He’s shortened it’. Brilliant.Why do you always spell his surname with an ‘E’?

Wow unbelievable, thanks to them you have your freedom and security just think about that.
What's unbelievable about it?
It's an occupation/career they have chosen to do, no-one is forcing anyone to join the armed forces these days.
Is it something I would want to do?
Absolutely not, which is why I have chosen an alternative career path.
You see it in America all the time and the completely OTT adulation they seem to have for their military people.
You can have respect for them without the unnecessary fawning.
Again I repeat, I'm not talking about either of the World Wars and the conscription era.

Agree. I flew on 4 planes the other weekend and boarding each one, the announcer said first to be asked to board were former and active military personnel and I thought "why?"In this modern age, and as a nation in general, we still fawn over soldiers/army personnel way too much.
(not talking WW1/WW2 time with conscription and whatnot)
