I’m not knocking people for showing kindness but I’ve always thought it a bit odd when I see people buying food for a homeless person sat outside a shop, without asking them what they’d like first? Don’t think any of us would dream of buying anyone else lunch without asking them what they fancy first.

I think the pharmacist and staff deserve chocolates for looking after me all year , so i brought them some , costs to be kind but fuck it , i will cut back merlins food

Isn’t the point that most genuine homeless people would just appreciate the food bought for them? You’d have to be pretty hard faced to moan that the sarnie wasn’t the one you fancied.

I don’t think being homeless automatically makes you like all food equally. Yes, it probably is a bit rude moaning about it, but if you’re going to buy them something anyway what’s the point in not asking them what they’d like?

Because i was shopping and came to the sandwich isle and brought it on impulse , he could have said thank you and taken the bits out he didnt want , last time i do it

How cheap are the flights? When I was there years ago it was dead cheap to fly from Melbourne to Sydney

Not anymore. People cannot afford the flights between Sydney and Melbourne so are forced to take the 12 hour train journey. It shouldn't take that but as some areas are single track, engines are old etc etc it does. We wanted to fly to the Gold Coast but it was far too dear.
