Unseen Lowry painting

I can’t stand his “ matchstick men” industrial paintings but some of his earlier stuff like Yachts and Sailing Boats are superb.

I know a lot of people don't rate him.

I only recently discovered that he did a painting of Daisy Nook Fair , which I remember going to once.
Is Daisy Nook still there ? I thought it might've been affected by all the road building in that area.

Yes, Daisy Nook went for getting on for £4m a few years ago. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/6752633.stm

AFAIK the fair is still there, there are brown direction signs when you approach the Etihad through Droylsden.

And, of course, Lowry was a blue.

He did indeed. He lived on Stalybridge road for 28 years till he died in 76. His house has a blue plaque on and is near the lights at Mottram junction.
He (or his mother) lived on Station Road Swinton I think, just opposite where the Willows was and where Matalan is now. I like Lowry's work but if you've seen one, you've seen them all.

Yes Daisy Nook Country Park is still there, I walk the dog occasionally , lovely spot for a stroll.
The fair arrives at Easter now iirc.
The M60 between j22 & 23 runs along side the area between Daisy Nook & Littlemoss.
