Have a look at Glossop mate , it’s 30 min from town on the train admittedly the traffic getting out is a mare in the rush hour but the by-pass is going in soon so the house prices will rise quickly depending on your pocket you can get some good deals , some lovely gaffs to be had .everything you need regarding shops , restaurants and many independent bars .
Schools are only average to be honest.
plus it’s a big blue area ;) .
