Former Arsenal and Barcelona defender Sylvinho is weighing up a move to Manchester City, skysports.com understands.
Sylvinho is a free agent following the expiration of his contract at Barcelona at the end of last season.
City boss Mark Hughes is keen to bring in the experienced defender to provide cover and competition for Wayne Bridge.
Sylvinho spent two years in England with Arsenal before making the move to Spain with Celta Vigo and then Barcelona.
The player's representative Hans Lamberz has confirmed there has been contact from City and the Brazilian is weighing up his options.
"There was contact with Manchester City a while ago and that has been renewed recently," Lamberz told skysports.com.
"Sylvinho is a free agent and he is in no rush to sign anywhere as he can join a club outside the transfer window.
"Manchester City is obviously an interesting option with the talent there and Mark Hughes as manager.
"We are waiting for a decision from the directors of Manchester City and Sylvinho also has a decision to make."
