Boggart Hole Clough is named after the boggart that used to live there.

The River Irwell had to be exorcised to rid it of a black shuck.

There are ghosts on the runway at Manchester Airport.

1963 Gene Pitney's best known hit: 24 Hours from Tulsa - great record. In fact he was on a UK theatre tour in 2004 when he died unexpectedly prior to a concert in Cardiff. Some anorak did the maths and did in fact ascertain that Pitney did in fact meet his demise 24 hours from Tulsa. Timeline: Taxi to Cardiff International airport - delay (night time) ,1st available flight to Atlanta (American air hub), flight time, delay 1st flight connection to Tulsa flight time: Total 24 hours.

Those delays seem a little convenient.
The day after Pitney died one of his relatives asked the funeral director how long would it take to make a coffin.
The director replied "Seven days from oak, but twenty-four hours from balsa."

I'll get me coat.
