Yes, the settlement apparently includes Fox admitting that some of the claims they made were false.

This is Murdoch doing anything he could to stop further discovery and public scrutiny of Fox News, his holdings more generally, and their interconnectivity with Trump, DeSantis, and the right wing propaganda machine.

It's now on the record that they knowingly lied. There is also another pending law suit against them.

The writing is on the wall for Fox.

I would say I agree, but I am not sure this is actually enough to start the death march for Fox News.

Which is an incredibly sad state of affairs.

That much is certain (heads have already been rolling).

Sadly, I still am not sure the disruption will be enough. They have groomed a viewer base that believes anything they say, and will swallow whatever spin they come out with for this Dominion defeat, as they have for previous Fox News scandals.

We can just hope pure demographic shifts take them down before they help the far right take down what’s left of democracy in the US.

However - with this in the public domain Fox will need to be ultra careful of they will just spend all of their time and money defending themselves in court

And I sincerely hope I am wrong and this is the beginning of the end for Fox News.

Newsmax, definitely, OAN will be shaken by this, as they do not have the cash to even offer this level of settlements.

A few other smaller right wing media outlets will be having war room calls with their in-house counsel and legal teams right about now, as well.
