That's the impression I got every time I have searched it when it's referenced a by a human mole rat on here.It's not hard to believe that a thief stole her diary and then exaggerated or embellished the contents to make money.
It seems that Snopes made a change to their own factcheck to go from Unproven to True, based on the letter - the letter does not appear to reference any content or excerpt.
Not hard to see why media doesn't want to look far into a private diary written for rehab purposes and then sold for profit. I doubt the court were bothered about the contents either.
