Sad. Just found a Gallup Poll from 2015.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Three in four Americans (75%) last year perceived corruption as widespread in the country's government. This figure is up from two in three in 2007 (67%) and 2009 (66%).

On top of that we already know the decades long collapse in the public trust in the media and Congress specifically.

So all the Democrats saying they are shocked are lying when they say they are shocked?

In fact, they are not shocked because all along they knew honest Joe was lying to them when he said he was going to respect the verdict of the jury etc etc and when they all commended honest Joe Biden for his principled commitment to the rule of law they did so in bad faith knowing he was lying.

So what you are saying is that honest Joe Biden and the Democrats all lied to the American people to their face for over a year whilst pretending to hold a position based on the noblest of ideals. Got it.

And when honest Joe Biden and the Democrats said that Trump is an existential threat to democracy they were speaking in good faith? Honest Joe Biden and the Democrats speaking in the noblest of terms with soaring patriotic rhetoric about defending America from White supremacy. Then honest Joe Biden appears in the White House congratulating the existential threat to democracy, welcoming said existential threat, smiling and full of good cheer promising a smooth transition of power with both teams working together.

I think it's pretty clear what the deal is. Deflector shields at maximum.

I'm happy to be told otherwise, but isn't Trump the only President/President elect who's put forward a pardoned criminal (of pretty abhorrent crimes) for a high-profile government role?

Your point is someone accused you of being a racist and you didn't like it because you don't think you are?

That's not really a "point".

The point is Trump can't be a racist Nazi dictator under any circumstances to you, because then you'd have to admit you supported a racist Nazi dictator.

So you see why perhaps your perspective on whether those appellations are or are not accurate is not especially objective.

Now notwithstanding your comment about not liking being targeted with the term "racist", if you were the rare sort who didn't mind admitting it ("I like Trump BECAUSE I'm a racist"; AKA like the KKK), that's another kettle of fish -- but I'd still think those labels of Trump weren't accurate.

That said, some of the rhetoric he has used reminds me of past and current Nazis, past and current racists and past and current dictators.

They've lost their minds. They have nowhere left to go now, they've finally gone full Hitler.

And in 2028, before the next presidential election, when America's Jews have not been killed and burned in a huge pile in the New Mexico desert, when America's blacks have not been put in chains and sent to Georgia, when Native Americans have not been run off into the waters of the Pacific, when Muslims have not been rounded up and tortured to death by Trumps Nazi death squads they'll all act as if they never made the accusation in the first place.

I think things got a little hysterical on here in the lead up to the GE and a few posters seemed to want this thread to be a democrat anti trump safe space for whatever reason. Anyone that veered from that was accused of being at least a rabid trumper and often equated to Nazis. You can probably just shrug it off as their problem, not yours.
