That is somewhat nonsensical. Of course they are totally opposed to the slaying of children. It is just that they don't virtue signal about gun control being how one stops lunatics .
Trying to maintain abortion is purely a medical/health issue and not a moral dilemma is the real contradiction here.

I didn’t realise that it was virtue signalling to have the opinion that controlling the process for people to obtain lethal weapons would help prevent shootings. Sounds like common sense to most normal people I would imagine.

Imagine living through a time when virtue signalling was deemed a bad thing!

The New Testament would have been very different had it been written today, what with Jesus being disregarded as a virtue signaller and probably shot dead at a rally.

It’s only a moral dilemma if you have inflexible thinking.

Or would you prefer backstreet abortionists become a thing again?

Burqas aren't commonly worn in Iran.

It's the chador.

What people call the burqa is actually the Niqab.

So in half of states its ok to abort a foetus in the other states its not. In those where abortion cannot take place if the baby gets shot at birth so be it - 5th Amendment Rights. Mostly supported by Devout Christians who seem to conveniently overlook the 6th Commandment and shoot people.
