How can Clarence Thomas continue as a SCOTUS when his wife is a raving QANON lunatic?

When Clarence Thomas was looking to court Republicans as he made his way up the list of SCJ nominees, he used to tell a story about how his lazy sister lived off welfare and was utterly dependent on it and how awful that was and what the world needed was less welfare - playing up to all the racist welfare queen stereotypes conservatives of the time loved (and still do). Not just that, but all her kids were now welfare dependent as well! It was pefect - a GOP talking point come to life and told by a black judge.

When newspapers went looking for his sister, they found out that she helped raise Clarence after their father left the family, and worked 2 jobs to support him through college. She'd only been on welfare for a few years when their aunt had a stroke and needed full time care. By the time Clarence was peddling his lie, she was back in full time work. Oh and her kids were all employed too - a carpenter, a baker and a soldier.

This is the calibre of person you're talking about. The kind of person who would sell his soul, lie about his family to add gravitas to a known racist sterotype of the time, because it got him endorsement from the racists.

He isn't going to resign. He can't be removed. Best hope is to root for whatever malady has hospitalised him.

Thanks. She is a tea party nut job. Reflects badly on Clarence Thomas though, who has been on the cusp of cuntery for decades. The politicising of everything there is crazy. Not the appropriate level of separation of powers between executive and judiciary. For a nation that bangs on and on about its constitution and democracy and mania level flag shagging, they really do have a fucked up skewed system. Jokers really .
The whole story of Jussi Smollett especially the continuing lack of condemnation and even support for him from senior or influential people and newspapers shows that politics are more important than justice. And now he's out again.
The whole country is bonkers.

That’s me not voting for him then.
