US Politics Thread

Trump should be on trial for treason, and is the reason ukraine was invaded.
Perhaps covid bought ukraine 2 years of getting ready, though if Trump had ‘won’ a 2nd term, they’d have probably been invaded by the US as well - a la Poland 1939

Fake news! Everyone knows that Sleepy Joe is a corrupt Snowflake, way out of his depth and is in an obvious state of rapid mental decline...

The above is not my view at all - but is simply the viewpoint that the rank-and-file Republican in America take.

The sad truth is that facts don't matter at all in American politics. Numerous Republicans are all too willing to lie - and those that don't lie are political creatures willing to go along just to remain in office.

Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney and a few others are very rare exceptions to this general observation.

In a surprising turn of events though, most Republicans appear to be pro-Ukraine - in spite of Trump and Fox News arguing to the contrary. WIth any luck some few more Republicans will wake up and recognize the constant lying broadcast daily on Fox.

A federal judge in Florida ruled on Thursday that sections of the state’s year-old election law were unconstitutional and racially motivated, and barred the state from making similar changes to its laws in the next decade without the approval of the federal government.

The sharply worded 288-page order, issued by Judge Mark E. Walker of the Federal District Court in Tallahassee, was the first time a federal court had struck down major elements of the wave of voting laws enacted by Republicans since the 2020 election. Finding a pattern of racial bias, Walker in his ruling relied on a little-used legal provision to impose unusual federal restrictions on how a state legislates.

It'll get overturned in the conservative-dominated appeals court of course.
