Democrats and their terrible policies are the true end of this country. Voting for a vegetable in Pennsylvania and corrupt cowards like Katie Hobbs tells me that this country is done. Georgia voting in that piece of human garbage warnock is just the icing on the cake. Expect the inflation issues to worsen, and all the woke bullshit to continue. You all talk about Trump nonstop, but that fool hasn’t been in office for almost two years. Nobody cares about Jan 6. But hey corrupt Dems are somehow better in your eyes.
I reckon when you were a child your mother had to tie a steak around your neck just to get your dog to play with you.

Fuck off, and when you get there fuck off a little bit more. The best thing about these primaries are cunts like you have not taken control. The world has had a fair few hits recently but hopefully it’ll sort itself out and we will be rid of the likes of folk who believe that lying, cheating, racist, homophonic, misogynistic, daughter shagging criminals should be running a country.,,
Honestly, you should be taken up to a mountain somewhere..

Remember, all of you who are criticizing the farts-in-the-elevator that are @Silvatoure21 and @foetus -- this is a just an echo chamber of lib views.

That said, I haven't been wrong once about the cowardice of posters like this. Every single one for the last six years has snuck off these threads back to their filth-holes once they embarrass themselves by getting things absolutely fucking wrong.

Their way of looking at the world is dangerous and the reason that hate is prevalent.

Don’t forget @Decc66. he’s been quiet, but spouted Trumpian nonsense for quite a while.

Ok, I’ll ask the dumb question.
For the uninitiated, what is the purpose of these mid term elections and how can you get anything done if The HoR can block legislation regardless of who is in the Senate.
I thought the Prez was picked from whoever wins the Senate.
If the majority changes through the mid terms, how does the Prez stay in office?

Explain this brand of democracy please.
I’m both interested and perplexed.

The people directly elect the US President through the “electoral college” not US Congress. Google “electoral college” and why it’s different from popular vote, it’s too annoying to explain.

US Congress is bicameral, it consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate whom craft and pass legislation. For a legislation to pass, both chambers have to agree on the piece of legislation before it is sent to the President who signs it into law. However, the President has veto power to block laws passed by Congress but Congress can override that veto if they have a two thirds majority, which will pass that legislation into law.

If the President’s party does not have control of both chambers of Congress and the opposition party doesn’t have a veto proof majority then nothing gets done in Congress. This is what is known as “gridlock”, since it is unlikely any legislation will be signed into law.

The US midterms are a congressional election cycle that takes places two years after a presidential election, where the members of the House of Representatives will face re-election and a few Senators face re-election as well. Members of the House of Representatives serve two-year terms and are considered for reelection every even year. Senators however, serve six-year terms and elections to the Senate are staggered over even years so that only about 1/3 of the Senate is up for reelection during any election.

Historically, the US Midterms tend to favor the opposition party and not the party in power. That usually means the President who is in the party in power in Congress will have a hard time enacting his agenda or simply not able to do any part of his agenda.

In the current climate it appears to be that the opposition party the Republicans have not made as big of gains in Congress as past midterms. This is very unusual for US midterms. Although the Republicans look likely to control the House of Representatives, the Democrats look like they will keep control of the Senate. Unfortunately this outcome still means Biden will not be able to enact much of his legislative agenda, since the the opposition party the Republicans will control one branch of Congress.

However, judicial appointments and other federal appointments are approved by the Senate. So if the Joe Biden’s party the Democrats maintain control of the Senate, he will still be able to fill any open positions without facing head winds from the Republicans.
