It’s a lot more true than you might be willing to admit.

Part of the law allows family members of the Rapist……not the victim, please let that sink in! to sue the woman for aborting the fetus. Not only one member but multiple members of the Rapists family
Some shithead actually said the other day that women who are being raped should stop complaining, relax and enjoy it.

This GOP is so far beyond Crazy, I’d imagine that Shariah Law can’t be far behind
No, it's categorically FALSE. The claim which states "the penalty for getting an abortion after you are raped is more severe than the penalty for raping someone."

That's statement, which is what was tweeted claims and I responded to, is false.

This is not to say there aren't some laws that are just ludicrous. There are. But this particular claim is false.

The sad thing is that there are women out there that will actually vote for him
Btw your claim about what he said also lacked context. And for all practical purpose constitutes a lie.

He didn't say when women are being raped they should relax and take it. He was in fact saying the opposite.

What he did wrong was using a topic like 'rape' as a political analogy.

He is one of those who believes the election was stolen. And he is saying those who are saying it's too late and they should give up on the election would be like him saying to his daughter when she's assaulted that she should l relax and take it.

I.e. in the analogy, he is his daughter, and the Democrats and Media are the Sexual Assault Assailants.

Its a terrible analogy... But a far cry from what you claimed above.

If terrible analogies and gaffes we're a legit basis for disqualifying someone .. Surely you son to think our current president should be nowhere near office

Yes, this must be the calculation... It couldn't just be tht some people thought differently from you and believe a person begins at Conception.

Lord have mercy.
It’s not just abortion. It’s a fundamental point of the entirety of the red platform. Which is why — as I wrote in what I thought was plain fucking English — I’ve said it a bunch of times before.

You know — BEFORE the abortion case leak.

Also, you don’t know what I believe about when life begins. In fact, I haven’t opined on the subject. Quite specifically. And you didn’t ask.

But of course you think that you do know, because that’s just the kind of arrogance melded with ignorance I’ve come to expect from you.

The problem is it was misreported. The content of what he said was disgusting based on the fact he used it as a simile for the bullshit stolen election nonsense which he knew was bollocks. It was perhaps a small insight into his thought process. The fact it was misreported by the media is the only thing some muppets see.

I recommend everyone listen to the first episode of Things Fell Apart by Jon Ronson.

It explains how the American Evangelical movement went from not giving a shit about abortion and seeing it as a weird Catholic issue to making it one of their key issues. And you’ll be shocked to learn that compassion for an unborn baby had absolutely nothing to do with it. It was literally an opportunity to oppose feminists who were arguing for things they were actually worried about like women’s liberation.

I see. This totally never leads to poor reasoning. Concluding a priori that the actions of a faction are all about 'last standingLol. Do you even hear yourself?

Think of it as a metaphorical 'You' if it helps. I don't care what you believe nor does it specifically matter. The point was that what underpinned the actions of others may differ from what you think.

100%

Both the same….

US politics on the Right are so fucked up at the moment it's amazing.

I recently watched part of a televised state Republican candidate debate. One of the politicians began with some reasonable statements, followed shortly by this (paraphrasing, but I think I'm accurate in the tone):

"And you know... covid... so bad... Those children, forced to remain inside with their parents. Terrible.

And the abuse... those children, subject to abuse! Over, and over and over and over again. Horrible abuse!"
===
The candidate attempted to connect child abuse - with the insinuation of pedophilia - to Democrats - and that this is a widespread problem.

In other words, she (the candidate in question was female) would do anything to win election - including propagation of the QAnon nonsense that Democrats are lead by a secretive cabal actively engaged in pedophilia.

Hmmm - a reasonable response. Very much unlike your response to my previous post, wherein you engaged in 1-sentence dismissal of my opinions and resorted to juvenile name-calling.
What response are you referring to? I.e the Juvenile name calling etc.

That said, if you're a right-leaning centrist, why on earth do you bother defending Trump - a far right, unbalanced, immoral maniac who did everything possible to circumvent democracy in an attempt to remain in power despite election results?
Okay, I've explained this so many times. And it's best understood using an analogy.

Let's say I'm anti breaking legs. And You are well known for Breaking legs. So as a general rule, I'm anti- your leg Breaking.

Now assume someone accuses you of breaking someone's window without showing evidence. Me pointing out that they haven't provided evidence of you breaking a window doesn't mean 'I am defending your 'leg Breaking habits.' Nor does it suggest I support you.

It simply means I don't agree that evidence that you broke a window has been provided. Just coz you are bad at some things doesn't mean it's acceptable to accuse you of all things.

Shouldn't that politician be advocating involuntary abortions?
