You can be a British subject without being a citizen.

Did the 1948 Act (making us citizens) actually say we cease to be subjects?

"Every person who under this Act is a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies ...
shall by virtue of that citizenship have the status of a British subject."

You've got it arse over tit again, I shouldn't really be surprised.

British subjects were not necessarily British citizens.

  1. The term “British Subject” became obsolete for all but a tiny remnant category of British nationals when the British Nationality Act 1981 came into effect at the start of 1983.

Your first sentence is the point I was making and the 1981 act put the foot on the neck of the term subject, you can carry on using it even though it is an Americanism and used pejoratively by our gun toting friends across the pond.

How is that different from what I wrote?

"You can be a British subject without being a citizen."

I am not a British subject it's an antiquated term, British subjects are exceptions to the rule not the norm. The term is now citizen and has been for close on half a century.

You appear to have taken umbrage with my use of the term antiquated/outdated, which is what started this little exchange off.

That sounds like someone who needs her shovel taken from her.

I found this paragraph amusing:

"The judge told Lambert to stay behind as the hearing wrapped up. The other attorneys left the courtroom, and two federal marshals then went inside and locked the doors. Lambert was never seen exiting the courtroom. The marshals declined to say whether they arrested her, and she didn’t answer messages seeking comment after the hearing."

Reader, yes, she was arrested.
MAGA - Making attorney's get attorney's.

Shouldn't he kinda do what 80% of his party want instead of sneakily sending more weapons over for Israel to carry on their Genocide.

To meet that sounds a better option than another 16,000 children being blown to bits.
“Sneaky” is a RWNJ term. The reason for it is to not make it yet another RWNJ Congressional political football.

It’s not a genocide but any loss of life is a bad thing. I think returning the hostages might help, just as not kidnapping them and indiscriminately murdering innocents inside Israel would have meant 0 children dying.

We don’t get to pick and choose when other countries do and do not fight each other.

Even though this thread is about US Politics, the question remains, even if it’s Brits. Thereafter, the question is “Who allowed that to happen?”

Let’s hope Americans don’t make the same mistake in November.
Agreed.

You spent years fucking off a king. You don't want another one.

Just fuckin Lol. You've probably even convinced yourself of this. Unbelievable.

I am hoping that second paragraph is not your true thoughts.

I didn't realise sneaky was on the list - I shall remove it from my vocabulary immediately. Is it possible for you to post a quick glossary or rwnj terms so we can avoid accidentally aligning ourselves with trump by inadvertently using them?
I'd like to propose the word 'moist' be on there as it always sounds a bit wrong.

"Melania stared at husbands button mushroom. Within seconds the moist part of her was dry and sealed itself closed."
