Who is this and when was he elected again?
It seems to be a bit of a 21st century phenomenon here too with unelected 'advisors' seeming to wield huge power at the heart of government. We've had the likes of Alistair Campbell and Dominic Cummings here. Not sure if they've always been there but now just have a higher public profile or if it is a new thing?

All good examples. TBF I don't suppose we've had a UK prime minister that Rupert Murdoch hasn't vetted and approved of since the 1970s
