Do City market themselves as impartial, unbiased, objective news and analysis for the intellectually superior?

Are you saying CNN & MSNBC are, in reality, just entertainment for TDS sufferers and now dumb Hitler has won it's just not fun anymore so their audience has left despite their outstanding balanced reporting? I thought they were news channels, not agit-prop echo chambers.

Have their numbers tanked in prior years when Republicans have won?
 
Not only did Kamala Harris blow through 2.5 billion, not only did she pay Oprah Winfrey's production company $2.5 million for her "town hall" but now the The National Black Church Initiative, which represents more than 150,000 churches and 27.7 million members, has come out and demanded answers from Reverend Al Sharpton receiving $500,000 for his National Action Network just before his sit-down MSNBC interview with Kamala Harris.

They want him suspended until an investigation into the matter is completed.

“This type of action puts a moral stain on the integrity of the Black Church,"

“In all the talk about the threat to our democracy, someone forgot to articulate that free, open, objective, and transparent press is an essential component of the building blocks to preserve our democracy’s integrity,”

MSNBC's Joy Reid came to Reverend Sharpton's defense, stating - "The National Black Church Initiative is just a front for Donald Trump's White Supremacist movement as everybody knows."

Everybody Knows was unavailable for comment.

I don’t know — I don’t watch them. Breaking news I might flip on CNN and I do check their website regularly but for news headlines. I’ve never watched MSNBC in my life. The only editorials I read are The Economist’s. I don’t read the WSJ’s editorials either. I’ve switched from CNBC to Bloomberg because I couldn’t abide how politicized CNBC became — I mean talking politics rather than business news.

I enjoyed the days of true 24 hour news, especially as I wake at 3:30 or 4:00 am, so I miss the old CNN.

I suspect having lost people don’t want to confront it. They’re too depressed and scared and maybe even humiliated or embarrassed. I guess if you think being frightened is “fun”’you enjoy slasher films but I don’t watch those either.

I never understood the vitriol the right spewed about left-leaning media or vice versa. If you aren’t bright enough to discern fact from opinion, or so wed to the latter the former doesn’t matter, then you aren’t watching these stations to be educated — you’re watching them to be entertained or to feel better. That some folks are isn’t political-side-dependent as we all know. And I’m already on record as absolutely loathing guru-itis.

As I said before, maybe one of the reasons MSNBC’s numbers are down is that conservatives have stopped watching now that they’ve won.

You are making the big mistake that many on the right make:

Viewership & truth in reporting have NOTHING to do with each other. NADA.ZIP.ZILCH.

If there was ANY correlation, FoxNews would have zero viewership, yet they’re apparently the #1 Cable “News” Channel, even though they take great pains to point out most of their programming is highly paid “opinion.”

Their “stars,” who flank what little supposed news they do show, are all opinion, wall to wall, and are the highest rated shows on cable TV!

Why?

Because old people, who are stuck watching TV all day, buy literally 2/3 of all the shit ever advertised on TV. And, you’d better hurry, because those Trump coins are almost sold out! Honestly! No, seriously! Hurry, hurry, hurry!

As for what little news they do show, they advertise it, somewhat ironically, as “Fair and Balanced.” This phrase is now a joke tag line, used to describe partisan “news.”

Not for nothing, the right wing channels are popping up like moles in a green field…and they advertise at the old and infirm like they are literally going out of style and out of time!

Need a reverse mortgage, a new hearing aid, long term care insurance policy, orthopedic shoes, a pill bottler opener for your arthritic hand, a used car warranty for your old car?
Well, do they have a deal for you!!!

Marinate in FauxNews all day, listening to old, white person grievances all day, et voila…immigration, inflation, inner city crime, men pretending to be women so they can win trophies and minorities invading your “safe space” are suddenly the root of all your problems…and Donald J. Trump is the answer!

And, here we sit…

Yes. To some extent. That said, the opinion folks are often on primetime btw 7pm to 10 pm Easternish... Outside that primetime frame, I find that Fox is by some margin the most accurate of the 3 networks.

That said, they all peddle in propaganda to some extent. But what they all really excel at is not covering news that's unfavorable to their side

So for example, if you spend most of your days watching MSNBC or CNN and never watch Fox, you'd never understand why people who are not exactly like you are mad. Because the things that animate them never even gets covered on the other news stations. Or when it does get covered, it's covered in the format of how the other side was negatively covering the topic. As opposed to actually discussing the topic.
The "rRepublicans/Conservatives pounce on the X." is a well known format in news media . "X" being the real story here. But when say MSDNC (that's for you foggy) viewers hears the story, it would be about the exaggerations or devious coverage by Conservatives that may lead the dangers of harm to a certain minority group or the other.

I can't tell you how often I've popped in hear to see that exact framing.

Well if you are going to be 'fair and balanced' you should also describe what passes for news on MSDNC and CNN.

How does one watch The Reidout and not leave needing a shower?
