US Presidential Election, Nov 5th 2024

Yep, good post. Everyone enjoyed Obama for the most part. He was cool, articulate, had that personality. He could draw people in. They need another clone.
They had one. But unfortunately for him, he was Jewish. And that doesn't fly in the current Democratic Political landscape

WW3 started with 9/11.

Good shout.

It felt like the Big Bang of a darker world and the beginnings of the tide turning against ‘outsiders’ or ‘those who are different’.

The papers really ramped up the hate against minorities back then and this was further exaggerated by the rise of the social media which then radicalised millions of people.

Before 9/11 it would have been impossible for someone like Trump to have won an election and Brexit would equally have had no chance have happening. These things are the spawn of what happened that day.

There will be women that are devastated and women that are delighted, they have both received a fair % of votes from multiple genders and ethnicities.

One thing is for certain, Harris now needs to step down her position is literally now void. As for Biden well paint drying is more interesting than what he has become
Why should Harris step down? This is a strange opinion

Has there been any reason given for the vote turnout?

Currently:
81m-74m last time (wikipedia)
66-71 so far this time (from Google).

That's a huge change, even allowing for states still to declare. Not sure how many more there will be, 10-12m by the look(?) with a split not far off even (6 to about 4.6 mayb2, for a total of 72m-76m.

Trump will get more than he got last time in the end, Harris down by about 10m maybe.
