Would posting for the first time in the politics forum the day of/after the election be equivalent to joining the forum and entering the match day thread when we’re losing by 4 goals to the rags?

Never Trumpers we're only a thing in Democrat circles. If you just stepped out of the left bubble, it was painfully easy to see they had littt sway.

I've not really considered what sway they have. Just wondered where they go from here.

Don't know about any left bubble either, I wasn't against Trump because I'm on the left. I'm against Trump because I think he's an awful human being really should be disqualified from any position of responsibility let alone this one.

Well the orange fucker better not tamper with my social security cheque before I fade away from the USA for good in a few years.

There's a reason that I re-applied for my Irish passport after a lapse of 15 years. (I was -ahem- discouraged to have dual citizenship due to my clearance level this past number of years.) I am no longer encumbered with that so my EU passport is winging it's way across the pond as I type.

Therein lies the problem. Lack of education.

Trump will now inherit an economy that is not only already the envy of the world, but still got another 2% reduction in interest rates to come, if we can just keep inflation at normal 2.something levels!

But, Americans are, by and large, too uneducated to understand the basics of such things, and just as he rode the coattails of the Obama economy that rise from the GFC of 2008/09, so he will get the benefit of the post-pandemic management of the economy that has been roundly praised as brilliantly managed to a soft landing, plus the return of American manufacturing and the largest domestic energy production in history!

Please don't get me wrong, I am not disparaging them as people. I am simply saying that as a politically force they were never really a thing.

They got more press on CNN, MSNBC ABC and the like, but they were never representative of the American people or where they stood

Im probably disparaging them more than you! I think most found it was more lucrative financially to step out of direct politics. Highly paid consultants and lobbyists etc. When I said nice life, I meant a $$$$ one!

Counting is far from finished in the states that have declared as well. For example California hasn’t even reached 60% yet but has declared because there’s no way the GOP can catch up there. Very few states are at 100%.

Ta - I'd no idea how the current figures were made up from, but assumed that the 4 undeclared states weren't in it.

Almost every anfi-trump Republican was also pro war.

I'm not criticizing, just pointing out the reality of it.

How about pro Trump republicans? They OK in your eyes?

I'm sure you saw the Netanhyahu rally and you have been quite vocal on the issue.

If Biden had stepped down earlier, and it hadn't been Harris as the only realistic choice at such short notice, then I'm sure the Dems would have had a much better chance.

She never really established herself as a politician in her own right. And being "nice" and peddling "aspirational" empty quotes isn't enough to lead.

I know I'm probably wrong but, as an outsider here, she always came across as a bit of a vacuum.

Trump isn't the answer either, and I don't think the divide over there is going to get any better.

Looking forward to the USA getting it's act back together in 2028.

Looking at the results in hindsight, the Democrats would probably have needed a transformational candidate ( an Obama or Clinton) type orator to give them a chance of winning.

In fairness, the built in dislike for Trump that many had, and the full throated support from the media that Democrats had made this 'seem' potentially closer than it really was...


Bur the people simply stuck to their reality. It's the economy, stupid!
