I can appreciate anxiety at what is to come and that a minority of Americans are upset about the election result, but the simultaneously contradictory views that are held by some of you at present are just silly.

I think it's excusable to get the wind up if you list the likely deals discussed in the latest 'Rest is Politics' e.g. with Russia & China and their deadly implications for Ukraine & Taiwan also the Baltic States, Georgia etc plus the likely massively damaging effects of his Heritage Group policies on global climate efforts together with the economic hits of protection tarrifs on many countries.

Yes, but that isn't the stuff getting posted here that I'm talking about. The idea that America suddenly changed this week is nonsense. America is the same as it was last week, it's just that the penny has dropped with democrats that hardy anyone more than 30 miles inland of the coast thinks they are a good idea or agrees with them. The behaviour described on here of groups of young men and idiotic racist text messages probably amount to a huge 'fuck you' from people that have just endured months of being insulted and talked down to. I think that’s one of the main issues in the western world at the moment, lots of people are sick of been talked down to and told what they can and can’t say without been labelled racist etc. They see the system as having lied and let them down, the systems that have been in place fir ever and a day are just not working fir them so it’s a big fuck you to the establishment, Trump is abhorrent but he dialled into this disenfranchisement and ramped it up, when people see the streets awash with homeless, rising crime etc and less money in their pocket then clearly government has failed them. Walking through Manchester this morning the streets are filthy, homeless everywhere, pavement and roads are shite. Clearly policies and dogma from years ago are not working and people are thinking fuck it give the other guy a go how bad could it be!
We will see how bad it can get but I guarantee if Americans see more money in their pockets and the streets cleaned up they won’t give a shit who’s in the White House, Trumps alluded to it he could walk down the street killing people as long as they prosper.
