The alternative of a society free of racism?

And before you retort, racism is not a tenet of free speech. It's a hate crime and has nothing to do with freedom of speech.
A society with restricted speech. Racism free society is like a crime free society. A myth in our current expression.

I want to talk to the people who hate me to know why they do. I don't want them hidden from me. We will reduce racism by breaking the yolk of mistrust amongst each other. Not by sone treating me like an agency free toddler that needs a savior's protection from 'mean words'.

Most people who are racist are often pathetic already anyway.

Given the choice between Free Speech and the censorship of 'hate speech.' I'll choose Free Speech every time.

I think the fundamental difference is that a post on social media isn’t classed in the same way that a print newspaper would be.

Therefore, someone with millions of followers can “publish” something on social media to far more than people read in a newspaper, despite those papers not being able to print overt racism.
Erm, my point is you don’t tackle racism by silencing it, you tackle by confronting it.

So what’s the answer?

I completely disagree too, if you don’t stand up to racism and leave (let’s say x) you’re just as much the problem.
There has to be some regulation. How much is up for discussion.

Currently, if you debate on X, you get botted to death.

Frightening times now for minorities in America.
It'a as if they looked at Farage's Brexit and thought: "you call that self-destruction? Watch this!"
The genie of hatred and racism is well and truly out of the bottle now, endorsed by the president-elect and shills like Musk, Johnson, Morgan and Farage.
I could weep for America right now and, after all the bluster, bolloks and bigotry of this charlatan/common crook, nothing of any positivity will come out of it and American most definitely won't be great again for a long,.long time. If ever.
And that's Trumps fault how?

I think you are underestimating the crappiness of your candidate, the situation she faced, the campaign she ran, and the headwinds she faced.

Trump won because he lied so effectively? So you really think if a prime Obama or Clinton would have lost to Trump even given the headwinds created by this administration?? I don’t.

I have no strategy that would have seen Harris win this election. That’s like asking me to win the champions league with Rochdale or the Kentucky derby with Mr Ed.

You had nothing to work with in Harris. She hardly answered any questions. She supported some pretty lame, very left wing positions which she tried to distance herself from.

If she had so much confidence in herself or her handlers had confidence in her, she would have gone on Rogan. I am convinced he would have been fair but she couldn’t stand the heat. She is not battle tested.

The book was all but written when they denied Sleepy, Creepy Joes decline. The Democrats that claimed Joe was sharp as a tack (Harris included) should be ashamed of themselves.
Yes I have already said both Obama and Clinton would have lost to Trump.

Clinton won after a recession and “Read my lips: no new taxes.” Obama won in the middle of a near-depression. It’s the economy, stupid is the answer — except that the data about where we were THEN vs where we are NOW are completely different. But though the data — on the economy, on inflation, on border control on conflict avoidance — wasn’t close to as unfavorable for Biden, it didn’t matter. Only feelings about the economy mattered. Or maybe wealth/opportunity inequality is so dramatic there’s a difference to whom it matters today vs then (an argument I reject wholeheartedly). Not to mention everyone has obviously seen and heard who Trump was, which also didn’t matter.

Why didn’t these things matter? Maybe it’s because the electorate is precisely as dumb as I think they are, and the best way for Democrats to win is to lie and tell them they’re smart.

But if I’m honest with myself there’s a lot of sour grapes in that.

In the end, I don’t disagree with you or Dax — Biden hanging on too long was a major issue, and about the only prediction I got right was that he should have announced he was a single term guy far earlier.

So run a better candidate — or not one rushed out in a panic — might be the answer.

I left. And I said I never would. But I did. My experience there was fine. I spent months blocking trolls and bots — hundreds of them, including Musk long ago. Eventually the algorithm got the message. But fuck that guy. He’s not getting my eyeballs or ears again. I’ll miss a few fun accounts, but a) most of my business-oriented connections left long ago and b) other friends will send me an occasional thing that’s relevant. Hoping Insta will keep me abreast of concert news, my kid’s college sports, etc.
