I believe that "oversimplified labels" pose a problem for elections.
For instance, among Chinese immigrants, you might believe that the Democratic Party's open immigration policy would appeal to these Chinese voters.
But the truth may be far from so simple, for several reasons: 1. Some immigrants are Chinese Christians, which means that the religious label of the Republican Party may be more effective. 2. Since these Chinese immigrants come from China, which is not an immigrant country, their own ideological tendency is anti-immigration.
Additionally, you might believe that Chinese American voters are victims of racism, hence they tend to favor the Democratic Party.
However, in real life, many Chinese Americans face racial discrimination from blacks and Mexicans. In contrast, racial discrimination against Chinese Americans by whites is more subtle. Because they will become victims of racial discrimination regardless, Chinese American voters tend to ignore this issue.
I can even tell you a more hidden fact: Chinese immigrants themselves tend to be racist.
So, if you observe these voters from an objective perspective, as well as the historical, social, and cultural principles behind them, you will find that things are very complex.

Democrats spent massive energy attacking Trump, but did they really study what voters are thinking?
Arrogance? Or, lack of scientific thinking?

And? if like you claim they were already at War why did Putin try to claim it was a Special Military operation? Surely it would just be part of the already ongoing War
Idiotic. He doesn’t ‘claim’ they were already at war, it is an historical fact.

With Zelensky gone, and the political chaos that would ensue, what kind of command and control would exist? What kind of armed services would Ukraine even have? What level of political control would exist in post Zelensky Kyiv? And what level of international support? As for guerrilla warfare, that might happen, it might make the occupation bloody but it won't end it.

Let's be frank, the Ukraine is slowly losing this war, and even if you disagree with me, no one believes she's winning. Even before Trump, support for this war was on the wane in the west, this is the reality of the situation.

Putin didn't wage this war to liberate the Russian majority provinces in Ukraine, he waged it to bring Ukraine back into the fold and If Trump imposes a settlement that is exactly what will happen.
Then, a question arises. Presumably Trump would bring an end to sanctions. What does Europe do then? If we acquiesce, then Russia, complete with its Ukrainian province, has won hands down.

Read that from BBC

Ukraine are going to get told to forget about Crimea.

I do think Ukraine will get the rest of their land back, I already said in the other thread last week.

I said probably with some sort of Russian (but maybe UN) peacekeeping force.

Ultimately Russia will have concerns over what it classes as Russian citizens there, I can’t see them just walking out.

I think Trump pulls US out of NATO, personally. Read this as to why.

But it’s either going to be a US withdrawal or legal agreements (which Russia wanted before 2022) that Ukraine would never be part of NATO.

I think if the US do pull out of NATO, it essentially dies and a European army will be formed, which to be honest I think is better for everyone. Europe is protected from US instability as it is currently over reliant. Russia will probably feel more comfortable without the US on its borders and the US will make a shit ton of money selling arms to Europe. Edit: on top of the shit ton of money they’re making in supplying Europe with LNG (edit: and oil), because Europe aren’t getting it from Russia ever again. At least until it starts getting supplied from Gaza Marine anyway ;)

Another edit: I think the Europeans (Germans) are happy with this too, as they get access to the lithium in the Donbas they need for their electric cars. The Ukrainian government is bankrupt and western companies are going to be mining there, probably on a lease.
There is currently a massive row between Germany and France on the subject of a European army. The row has been in abeyance during the Ukrainian war, but will resurface if there is a settlement.
France is happy with the idea of NATO fading out to be replaced by a European army. Germany wants NATO to remain with a small tactical unit from Europe, rather than a full blown army.
The row was so toxic that they cancelled all bilateral meetings between them.
Watch this space.

It's not a case of paying to be in NATO, it's an agreement for member nations to commit a specific % of GDP to defence?
No no no. The amount NATO members commit to defence is not part of the NATO funding agreements. Members pay/contribute in kind to the permanent structure and the cost of any deployment is agreed on an ad hoc basis.
The bills Trump talks about are non existent.

Everyone keeps saying they fucked up. I’m getting tired of asking the same question.

No one has offered a winning solution to a candidate willing to lie and lie and lie and lie and millions who believe him.

Lay out your strategy for how you’d have defeated him then.

And don’t moan about Biden’s late exit — I already said he should have dropped out at the latest after the midterms back then.

I’m all ears — we all are.
In principle the strategy ought to be to answer the lies directly where they are disseminated. The dems therefore need a big presence on line, TikTok, Facebook etc. Twitter would be interesting! Sorry, I mean X.
Ideally, they need an oligarch of their own to buy a tv network and direct it as Murdoch does Fox. Hmmmm…..

Tbf they only seemed to attack trump personally in the closing stages of the campaign. I thought it was odd, sort of getting down in the gutter with him but I suppose they had an idea Kamala was going to lose and it was a desperate role of the dice?

Sadly (and I think this is a global problem) RW ideas playing on fear seem to work or project better on these platforms.
