Many black males and women voted for Trump, so I'm not really understanding your last paragraph there.
Actually I do...you have an obvious issue with people of your own gender, your own colour, your oncoming age bracket and other things with similarities.
Which sounds really fucked up and indicative of much deeper issues to be honest.

The white man's burden has become a millstone around his neck.

And yet black males and women voted for Trump.

You see, this is the problem right here.

People are put in a box because of their colour and/or gender. "White people did this...." "Black people want this...."

Usually spoken by someone who has an agenda, and doesn't really give a shit other than getting their ideology across

There was something on the news tonight about how some black US citizens are completely fed up with being talked down to. Almost "protected" and mollified by the liberal elite.
They are quite capable of speaking, and doing things, for themselves. People of any/every colour are different from each other; it's the way of humanity.
Some are good, some are crap.

Interestingly I find that interesting in that when we here of elections in the US we hear of the black vote or hispanic vote etc etc its so alien to us - no UK Party or UK media outlet would break the electorate down in those terms - just sounds wrong. Some would think of it as woke thinking I just think its disrespectful to stick people in a bloc without deep analysis and even then to group them by ethnicity is probably illegal here

I hope. But they were also never going to overturn Roe. Based on the laws they’re trying to get passed (eg, mifepristone), I’m not optimistic.
If I am wrong, I'll come back and apologize. But I can almost guarantee they have no interest in Abortion. At least a Trump administration absolutely has none.

I think your comment is a bit uncalled for saying the poster has deeper issues when polls show that older, religious, males are all more likely to be pro choice than their counterparts.
You might do, but I'm coming from a point of viewiing dozens of similar posts, in other contexts, of the same ilk.

The poster concerned isn't a "bad" person, but I really can't be doing with ideology of any description.

I agree. It's crap.

So why does everyone keep doing it,?

While he lost my State, New Jersey. He won my county, Passaic by swinging it 15 points from 2020.
Same in Illinois and Cook County. Lost the state but made massive voter gains that pushed him to the first Republican majority vote win in over 20 years!

Crazy, but true!

Oil prices are low, the US is energy independent already, and we pumped more energy in 2024 than any year in our history!

DEI is dying in the marketplace, but I’m sure it’ll be a cause for a victory lap.

Not sure bashing the climate agenda is going to be a big winner with many, especially those independents, but who gives a fuck when you’ve just won your last election and you own Washington, eh?!

Expect the old Border Security Bill to be resurrected, with a Trump tweak or two, and be enacted as an easy “Trump win.”

He doesn’t care about the wage impacts on immigrants or Americans, because most can’t follow a through line beyond the end of their nose or the 5 second sound bite!

Everyone, except Trump it appears, knows tariffs are inflationary and paid by the consumers, not the country being targeted, especially when it’s your biggest, most needed trading partner.

Trump’s timing is good, though, because Xi is looking for an economic rebound. That rebound will come from the exportation of Chinese goods to the US.

Wonder if we will see the ban on Chinese EVs lifted now that Musk has not only bought the ear of the President?! HAHA!! But, Musk’s pittance spent on a Trump victory is a small investment which has probably raised the IPO value of SpaceX by billions of dollars. Wonder what Trump’s butty is on that?!

And, rightly so, because facts matter, and all the facts point to Biden/Harris coattails being long and lucrative for Trump.

He will even use the improving, growing, lower interest rate economy as a Laffer Curve argument for extending the current lower taxes on the wealthy, and possibly even lowering them further.

I’m also expecting that now he has a significant stock market and crypto presence, that crypto is going to become less regulated and more easily traded, and he is going to lower capital gains taxes, too.

ALL of these things are also goid for me personally, but of fuck all use to Cletus who voted for him!

In short, we are going to lose many of the opportunities the Biden (let’s face it, she didn’t have much to do with it!) economy is creating by frittering away the money and repeating the same old mistakes that, sometime later, my kids and grandkids are going to have to fix!
Well, so long as you make out like gangbusters. I'm happy for you as a fellow Blue:)

Because they generally live in specific communities and often vote as a bloc. Identifying the where and the whys of their politics is important.

As an example, I live in a village right next to a town that is heavily Hispanic. My town has barriers to entry, such as home prices and property taxes that limit the size of the Hispanic (and black) community. That is important demographic information.

Yes it's yucky I agree. I am happy you see it too. It has become too common in our everyday speak.

Cheers! I wouldn’t say “gangbusters” but both kinds of taxes being lower will (possibly significantly) enhance the quality of my retirement, which coincides with the end of the Trump term.
