If the policies they enact are similar to those enacted by the Nazis .... then yes.

Out of interest what nazi policies have the republicans enacted? Genocide? Apartheid? Massive military expansion? Increase in secret police? Persecution of political opponents?

It’s lazy rhetoric. And it’s rhetoric that cost the dems this election.

There’s so much fair criticism you can make on trump too. His position on global warming for example is preposterous. But he spent four years in power and he wasn’t anywhere close to being like Hitler.

Wouldn't listen to the gaslighting pal, he's probably gutted Trump didn't start WW3 and open concentration camps when he was last in power.

The naïveté is adorable. Nihilism is the only defen(s)ce.
We are never ever going back to decency.
Ever.
Why would we when lies work so much better?

Explain to me to downside of being a scumbag.
Could be worse, you are a citizen of the richest country in the world. Count your blessings, this result probably won't affect your life much at all.

He’s not trying to gaslight. He dislikes trump like how I dislike him. And Trump’s rhetoric has racist undertones which opens the door to this sort of criticism but we have to be better than this. This is the problem with modern politics. Everything is blown out of proportion, each side attack and play dirty against each other, and sadly the dems have ended up playing trump at his own game. And lost. The more he’s called Hitler (which as we’ve discussed is factually not true) the more his supporters rally around him and I do think it helped contribute to those swing voters to turn against the dems.

It’s refreshing we have a prime minister that isn’t populist at least.

I remember someone denying that he was overly-platforming conspiracy theories, claiming that he has a range of views on his show. So I had a quick look (thankfully, someone has catalogued his episodes by expertise of the guests), and for the subject we were talking about at the time (ancient civilizations), he had literally only had guests on that are accused of being conspiracy theorists. I think something like 8 out of 10 were the same guy.

Which is fine, if that's what you're into. I get why conspiracy theories can be fun, but don't try and play the 'all sides' card.

I've only watched two of his podcasts, and they were both with Brian Cox. Both interesting and he seemed to have a fair amount of knowledge and a desire to learn more. But that's not relevant at all to politics, of course.

Did you not read the Party manifesto prior to voting (always a good idea) I realise that its 900 pages but it provides fascinating insight to what's coming down the line for you and your family ...

it can be found here

not dissimilar to the policies enacted by the NAZIs in the years prior to the second world war

I’m not American and can’t vote so no I didn’t read the party manifesto. That link is from a conservative think tank though? It’s not the republican mandate unless I’m missing something? Not saying trump won’t try and make political changes and put his friends in power but to a degree every political party does this. If the US citizens don’t like it then they vote dem next election and those policies can be reversed. That’s democracy.

Now I pointed out a number of things the Nazis are associated with. You chose to ignore all those key points and point to an obscure political agenda which is yet to be made law. Or even attempted to be made law. It’s sort of pointless to debate what trump might do… he has already been in power, so why don’t you look at what he did do and highlight what policies of his are a copy of the nazi party?

I think I’ve been fair and raised points for you to counter. As I’ve said I’m no advocate of trump - I really dislike the guy - but this is the problem with social media no one listens to the other side they simply try and find a new angle to make their point as if winning the argument is all that matters. It’s actually pointless.
