I like her for the reasons you dont. Like it or not she is establishment. She can meander on policy, and thats fine by me, because if she came down unequivocally on one particular policy it would matter not once shes elected. She would face opposition in the inevitable split with a Republican majority Congress and nothing would happen anyway. That seems to be the way septics work it, they elect a president from one party and a Congress is from another. Equals stalemate and bollocks. What Clinton is is a stateswoman, a former senior diplomat, Secretary of State brings contacts and the ability to do things after compromise and discussion and with alliances and yes, in smoke filled rooms. Thats what really matters, not what policies she may say on a podium in some state caucus. Look at Trump, he says whatever the fuck he wants. He wont get elected, and I look at him and really think 'why the hell are you doing this?' His is an ego trip, and that is not good. I would rather someone who may look vague on soundbites, and a bit gash at the razzmatazz, for that is all it is, but who knows how to deal with world leaders. Surely that is more important? No?I suppose it's the fact he's only started going to church in the last couple of months. Pretty bare-faced and cynical, not that this approach has hurt him so far. He understands how easy it is to press the right buttons. It's desperately embarrassing and dangerous for the Republicans. If (when) he loses the race, he will have left a lot of the mainstream undecided filled with disgust which they will associate with the GOP.
Have to say, Clinton looks like she will need that sort of fubar situation to win. (Although I am super impressed by Sanders' honesty, he isn't electable and the party know it... plus the south will carry her home, without question). For one thing, the email story will go nuclear come the election.
More than that, the problem is the woman herself. Everytime I see her I think, why the hell are you doing this? She looks like she hates every minute of it. She's meandering so much on policy there's no question of it being an ambition to fight for anything she believes in. She's not in it for feminism, that's for sure. No-one believes in her... she's just the default option. The only thing she has going for her is that it would be a shame to lose what little they've achieved on healthcare under Obama.
I say that as someone can't stand republican politics. The guy who is the real life inspiration for 'The Big Short' said that the evidence of what was really going on in the sub-prime market was conclusive from day one.... yet he had trouble accepting the overwhelming evidence of mismanagement and corruption because it didn't fit with his world view as a republican - he couldn't conceive that people were actually doing wrong in making money, that they were committing crimes and making victims out of others. He had to spend months, years, convincing himself that it was possible, before he accepted the reality of it all, and made his moves.
Probably the fact that he stuffed a wad of dollars in the communion bread!Bloke is a **** and I hope he gets herpes but what's up with donating to a church?
Thats because its impossible. Anyone who believes in 77% of what Trump says is by nature a 'jackass'I'd vote for herpes over Hillary Clinton, but your points regarding the GOP field are not poorly taken. It's probably good for what's left of the Republic that Mr. Trump got slapped last night. Still, I think people continuously fail to understand Trump's appeal. Here's a guy who a ton of people don't like AND PLAN TO VOTE FOR. Here's a guy who many people don't agree with on major issues YET PLAN TO VOTE FOR. That's kind of fascinating. Because the one thing the chattering classes on the Left and the Right in this country can agree is on is that they both hate Trump, there's really nobody out there looking to correct the narrative regarding who Trump's supporters are. In a lot of ways, though, they are very similar to Sanders supporters - people who are desperately looking for the "Anything Else" lever in American politics. Doddering-old-fool-Socialist? Sure!!! Arsehat-real-estate-mogul-misogynist? Why Not!!!! What has astounded me - and which probably tells you a lot about just how bought-and-paid-for all of these idiots are - is that nobody among the field of thousands seemingly seeking the Republican nomination has, in essence, gone out and said "Look, I believe in 77% of what Mr. Trump has to say, AND I'm not a jackass!" That would seem to sound like a winning formula this election cycle.

Nothing would be more harmful to the idea of the West and world peace than if he were to be elected president. George W. Bush's America would seem like a place of logic and reason in comparison."

Hillary - US Thatcher.I really don't get the hatred of Hillary Clinton. I am not a huge fan of hers but at least she's level-headed and a moderate. I don't like that she seems sooooo desperate to be president and that she's willing to pander to get support but that pales in comparison to the saber rattling and fear mongering of the republicans. Her detractors point to Benghazi and this email scandal as evidence that she's horrible. But nobody has been able to prove that she did anything wrong regarding Benghazi (even though they investigated it more than 9/11). And the emails probably aren't that big of a deal either and are probably a Fox News manufactured scandal more than anything else.
On the positive side, she has more experience than anybody else and her Benghazi testimony and the way she handled it showed me that she won't be intimidated.
