US Senator John McCain - RIP

Just so - but a "never-ever-ever-war" policy leads inevitably to bad outcomes as well - if bad actors realize that you will never declare war on them - then they'll purse means without restraint - in the knowledge that no military action is forthcoming.

War is a last resort - but if it's not a resort at all - then very bad outcomes are, I think, inevitable.
Probably right although many Western interventions have not been last resort.

And most interventions in the last century have seen the US as protagonists

The Iraq war was predicated on a lie, complete with clip of Powell waving the proverbial vial of chemical weapons we all know (Yet seemingly refuse to acknowledge/accept) was BS. This, after having starved millions through sanctions and fueling a decade long war with Iran (while having propped up Iraq's dictator for decades) by arming both sides and seeing many more millions killed. That's just one case in the past century, not even the most recent

No argument from me there. America have long since lost any moral highground. That is if they ever had any.
But like many countries before them money came way before any higher ideals.
