Because Trump has now taken control of the White House Press Corp. Have a listen to the Newsagents podcast on Global Radio and you'll find out how the press corp works(ed). Putting aside the last few days, it is probably the most dangerous and anti-democratic issue that there is.Why has none of these journalists questioned Trump or any of his clown posse on the next phase of this masterplan yet?
Lets say we are in a world that he's imagining where America suddenly has all this manufacturing power, (ignoring the numerous years it would take to get all that set up) are say a Nike as an example going to employ Americans to work for a similar wage that they currently pay Vietnamese kids to make their clothes? I'm going to presume not so therefore they'll incur substantial increases in wages which will be reflected in the new much higher price they have to pay for the same stuff they currently have. And then if they try and sell it outside of the US, they could potentially see reciprocal tariffs which will raise the price even further to sell anywhere but the US and drive away demand. So who wins in his dream world? Unsurprisingly, there doesn't seem to be any actual goal it's just this line of "other countries have been taking advantage of America for too long" yeah they sure have... vietnam allowing a US company to pay peanuts for child labour exploiting that countries economic status to make cheap clothes to maximize profits for billionaire Americans is really not on those Vietnamese kids need to stop freeloading off America and allow for American child labour to grow.
Maybe it's time Airbus suspended production in the US. There are 275000 jobs depending on it.

Within the last 3 weeks or so. You'll have to do a search.which episode is that in?
Well they'll all be shifted to US, where as we all know, they have the highest standards of quality control.

A bit harsh on Del Boy that - at least he was a likeable bloke!Just had a back & forth with a former USA colleague - his exact words about what Trump is doing “The art of a deal”! He’s a VP of International Sales in a company based in Virginia but moved all manufacturing out to China & Mexico years ago - they supply a large volume of domestic goods via Walmart! He’s a very intelligent guy but they are completely deluded thinking Trump is fighting for USA! It’s like having Del Boy in charge of the economy!
No, he meant FF OF.Don’t you mean FF off? :)
Those hormones gave US troops stationed in Europe post war BREASTS due to the amount they ate. They had to reduce the drug level.By weak, does he mean 'not pumped full of growth hormones'?
Also, the chicken and seafood is washed in chlorinated water during processing.
World class. Some fantastic understatement from DB...
"We worry this risks lowering the policy credibility of the administration on a forward-looking basis,” said George Saravelos of Deutsche Bank. “The market may question the extent to which a sufficiently structured planning process for major economic decisions is taking place.”
Does not surprise me in the least. Food standards here are pretty shocking, and all in the name of corporate greed - Keep 'em unhealthy; sell them healthcare. The food industry and the pharmaceutical industry have done very well out of it.Those hormones gave US troops stationed in Europe post war BREASTS due to the amount they ate. It won’t matter. They are blown apart by the laxity which culminated in the max 8 scandal. The new A350 Airbus is a dream apparently. Airlines are queuing up to buy as many as they can.
What makes it worse is there is about 13 million people employed in lower paid manufacturing jobs in the USA, and well over 10x that in better paid, better condition jobs in other sectors. To boost US manufacturing by a significant amount is going to take at least a generation, because those workers currently employed in the higher paid jobs aren't simply going to start clocking in at the local steel mill because it doesn't exist. Not that easy. Many large American companies have their manufacturing facilities in China and other parts of Asia. Many of these manufacturing facilities are high-tech and to shift manufacturing can take years in the planning. The American public are going to get hit big times with these tariffs.
CNBC did a break down of where the parts for a US built Ford Pickup are sourced. The boss of the division stated it would take years to build facilities to manufacture all of the parts in the US.Well they'll all be shifted to US, where as we all know, they have the highest standards of quality control.

Having flown in both, I'd take the 350 every time given a choice. Boeing have been far too complacent, as have the USA in general. The A350 certainly knocks spots off a B787 from a passenger perspective. We've just spent 30 hours on a recent trip on an A350 as we have the last couple of years. I now actively look for them if we are looking to go somewhere long haul. Finnair use them on a couple of their daily flights to Heathrow.
