In fairness, religion is a byproduct of human nature. So both ring true.

They do, but whilst humanity was ambling along for tens of thousands of years, then our ability to destroy each other was limited by distance and contemporary technology.

Our intelligence has enabled us to reach a point where that is no longer the case.

That is our curse.
