US/UK launch strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen

I'm sorry but this is a completely ridiculous statement and I'm sorry it inconveniences any blood thirst you have for allowing a group to attack another freely with impunity.

Ships have the right to freedom of navigation in international waters. According to international law Yemeni waters end 14 miles from the Yemen coast and no ship has entered those waters. The Houthis actions are offensive and take place at long range over international waters and even over the territories of countries such as Saudi Arabia.

Military action is completely justified.
Blood thirst?

I am criticising armed engagement, stop deflecting from the fact we should not be bombing yemen.

We are not bombing Yemen, we are bombing an armed group that is actively attacking us and our interests in the region.

If the Houthis stop attacking Royal Navy ships and commercial ships in the region then they will not get bombed.

Maybe if Israel stopped bombing Gaza then this wouldn’t have happened… but easier to bomb than condemn I guess, and as for that statement by Israel v SA….

All the problems of the world summed up in two words 'our interests'.
And not just including the US, UK in 'our'. Russia, China and indeed every country on earth has interests that don't necessarily ally with the general good.
Twas ever thus.

You start interfering with money and all hell breaks loose. 130 children a day being massacred in Gaza is fair game though, That's perfectly fine.

What is the argument to not protect our interests? If you're typing this on a phone or computer then just think about where either came from?

The components almost certainly came from Asia but how do they get to here? Via a ship. What route does that ship take? It takes the quickest which involves transiting past Yemen into the Red Sea and then into the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean.

If the Houthis are attacking ships heading into the Red Sea then those ships will instead take the safer but MUCH longer route around Africa which means the availability of goods from Asia decreases and prices will go up.

Not disagreeing with your logistical point.
But see Blue Phantom's point above.

Well done trying to focus minds on the really important here ...... OUR interests in the region. Incredible colonial mindset you have there.
