USA Summer 2010 - City Tour

This sounds great but why travel to US during the world cup? Surely late July / early August would be more appropriate. As USA are in the World cup real soccer (football) fans will be engrossed in that and we might struggle to maximise the opportunity. As for the venues NYC is a great one...not sure about the other two. Orlando would be great allowing UK City fans to enjoy Disney and take in a game and Seattle is renowned for a great interest in the English game. I believe Chelsea got a capacity crowd when they played there recently.

Just a thought!!

I would imagine it will be after the WC....hope so anyway!!

Also agree Orlando would be great (and within driving distance for me ;), but there are no MLS teams down there, so it probably wont happen :(

HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT! I live in Chicago but have family in Philly. Would be an absolute dream! xD

Looking forward if it does happen. I would definitely go see them play against the Red Bulls and would drive 2 hours south to see them in Philly. I wonder why they would play in Portland as they (Portland) enter the MLS next year. Even if City didn't play here in NYC I would look forward to see them in Philly. A new stadium has been built for the Philadelphia Union (strange name for a team but there you go) and this is their first year playing in the MLS.

I'd imagine that City will be given a lot of incentives to play Portland. It is their first season as you stated, and they need publicity. What better publicity than one of the most controversial teams in world football turning up to play you?

As a reference, the Seattle Sounders played Chelsea last pre season and it generated huge interest in the city, and the Sounders went on to have great attendances and a successful first campaign.

Superb, brilliant way of bringing some exposure to the club from the states.

Why would city come to portland seattle? Sounders are successful, have a huge following and a stadium that fits 70000, while portland has no team and a small ground... Im in seattle so ill go either way but who will they play in portland?
