What a glorious win given what was on the line. They had their unbeaten record at the swamp, we were setting out to break the winning streak record in the league, and to at least maintain our 8 point lead.
To me the rags played like they didn't believe they could win. You could smell the fear. The second team in the league played their fiercest rival in a local derby for bragging rights, and basically played the same way that Huddersfield set up against us! They knew we had the better players and the better manager. On that issue it must have been grating for all those former United 'legends' like Cantona come out during the week and say that they preferred Pep to The Moaning One. Suck it up Raggies!
The facts is we outclassed them, and that was without even playing well!
Kudos to every player, particularly Ederson, KDB, Merlin, Ota (who recovered well from his error) and Sterling.
The upshot is that the game confirmed what everyone knew. They are light years behind us, and that will always remain the case with the Moaning One in charge.
