Hilarious Guardian article

Van Gaal has been challenged to win United a 21st title in his first season with the vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, sanctioning a sizeable kitty to pursue targets that include Southampton's Luke Shaw, Bayern Munich's Arjen Robben and Toni Kroos, and Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels.

As if these players are just sitting on a shelf at the local shopping mart, then just go out and win the league. Simple! Will these players want to spend a year or more out of Europe?

We signed Yaya and Silva when we were out of the CL so it is possible to make clever signings.

United picked up 3 fewer points in 13/14 than we did in 09/10. I think they are currently roughly on a par with where we were at the end of that season. It took us two years to win the league which would be a more reasonable target for Van Gaal. If they're seriously expecting him to win it next year they're being unrealistic as to the extent of their problems.
But that's where the problems lie.they cannot see and will not accept they are off the race.

Season ticket renewal time again?

Summed up perfectly.

He is an excellent manager who will no doubt turn it around but the lack of CL football and the level of debt means talk of war chests and world class players this summer are some way from the truth.

They are in need of a major rebuilding job and its going to take a good few years.

Claims in Holland that Louis van Gaal will earn £7.5million-a-year at Man Utd - more than double what Manuel Pellegrini gets at Man City

Pelle is not just here for the money, but the project.

Yeah, I imagine it takes a lot of money to convince them to be captain of a sinking ship. :)

Funny how the rags dont seem to bother going out to blow £200 million in one transfer window. It is only us who will buy their way into a successful position. Bunch of hypocritical w*nkers. How much is ther dud team worth in fees and wages?

I wonder what would happen to their finances if they blow 200 million (lets say 120 million net spend) and don't qualify for the top 4. Seeing last season, 77 points to qualify for Champions League. Its going to be very hard nowadays for rebuilding teams to get back into the UCL in England

Good manger , and I for one am looking forward to a more competitive tactical , close derby in the future , I like rag competing, when we win it tastes better

I would actually like to see them in the conference, with 200 average gate. Better still go out of business altogether and be wound up.

One more thought.

United don't buy success, they nurture it.
Yeah i'v been scratching my head (and bollocks) over this one since yesterday, all we have heard for years is its not 'the Utd way' to spend 200 million, what a load of bollocks this club and its 'fans' talk

he is a very good manager

anybody arguing that clearly knows nothing

the trophies he won proves that and if anything he kicked off the bayern empire of the past few years even if he got sacked.
