at my letterbox waiting for my season card.
It has just recently come to light that my boss has been tracking me for the past two months without my knowledge.
firstly is this legal? surly it isn't.
secondly im seriously considering leaving my job over this matter as i see it as an invasion of my privacy.
now he is either spying on my blackberry phone or he has some how fitted a tracker into my van the other week when a parrot handsfree device was fitted.
either way im livid about this.

Apparantly its not illegal, all the works vehicles at our place have trackers, they use the health and saftey get out alongside saying it can put a stop to fraudulant claims against the company (due to accidents/non accidents and being able to state the vehicle was/wasn't there at the time etc)

If its your van then it is illegal, my guess would satnav or company mobile, i did some lone working advice and guidance and if leaving the office had to take a company mobile, though the company could only activate the tracker from head office and only if i didnt call in at specified times

How did it come to light ?
it came to light by way of a letter with my wage slip at the weekend.
the letter was pretty much telling us that our times will no be watched by way of sattelite tracking systems on our vehicles in other words it pretty much says they are already in there and that means they must have been there for the last two months.

-- Wed Aug 25, 2010 5:29 pm --

no they have fitted them on every ones van but they have covered it up by fitting parrot hands free devices at the same time.

They have by the sounds of things monitoring all employee's on the qt. but to use it in any form of dicipline without you knowing it was there would open up a can of worms, now youve been warned so take the risk at your own peril.

I bought one of These Drives the boss up the wall.

They have had the engineer out to it 8 times and they have said it must be something to do with the cars "ambient field" has cost them over £600 to get this.
