well shows what you know then dont it pal
i was given the van two months ago and was told nothing about it being trackered in fact i asked if it was and was told no, so ive been lied to the one thing i cant stand is liars.
im pretty sure i make him a lot of money and a little bit of professional courtesy shouldnt be too much to ask now should it?
but im guessing your as much of a tosser as he is otherwise you would see my point.

Yeah I see your point, you don't want him to know where you are.

He owns the vans and pays the wages.

Would you not want to know where they were if you owned them?
yes i would and i dont blame him. i want it trackered i keep 0ver 2 grands worth of tools that i own in that van in the van vault.
but if i was him and i had someone that worked for me who does overtime whenever its required of them, drops family plans occaisionally to pull me out of the shit and in general work very hard for the company.
i would at least have the good grace to tell them their van is trackered.
you seem to think i dont do my job and if that was the case im quite sure he would have bollocked by now wouldnt he.
but i do my job i arrived at jobs when i said and left jobs when i said.
also only last week i was given a 3 day job in knaresbourough and i did it in a day and a half. so dont go on like im some tosser who dosses about on the job because that is not what im about at all.

When i used to drive a van i used to go to Platt lane to watch City train (early 90's) if i had a tracker i couldn't do it. now i'm a manager of a few drivers i check the tracker every day and use google street cam to see were they are parked up, and if they have longer for there break than they should have i bollock them, might seem a wankers trick but most of them are Reds

I bought one of These Drives the boss up the wall.

They have had the engineer out to it 8 times and they have said it must be something to do with the cars "ambient field" has cost them over £600 to get this.

Paybacks a woman!!
yes paybacks a woman. the boss wins in the end

His van so it's completely legal. In fact most company vans and lorries are tracked in one way or another these days to try and prevent theft/ hi-jack. They are also tracked to stop people carrying out 'other' jobs in work hours.

I can see why you might be slightly miffed seeing as you asked him if it was fitted with a tracker (weird question to ask though) and he said no but it's all totally above board.

Maybe he sent the letter because he thought...

"shit, i lied to that really nice bloke, what with him being a fan of god's own club an all, how do i sort this mess out? Hmmm...i know...a letter. That will be ok. He won't mind a letter as long as it's on official headed paper. Everyone loves official headed paper. Sorted. I'll do that. Phew. I can sleep at night now".
