Van won't start - Any ideas?

push it a few hundred yards down the road, ring the aa again, worked for me.

No it's still not starting up.

Really frustrating as it's JUST about to fire up, and does that normal shuddering when a diesel fires up but just gives up and stops.

Just waiting for Halfords to open and I'll be there to get some of that start up spray.

I've got an 06 Vauxhall Vivaro van.

Last drove it on Tuesday evening before heading off to Juve and tried starting it this morning, but it just won't start.

Tried warming up the coil jobbies that heat the fuel, that didn't work.

I've been charging the battery all day, still doesn't fix it.

There's about a quarter of a tank of diesel in it.

Any ideas what it could be? Might I need a new battery? Tried ringing the AA, but I don't have Homestart and they're going to charge me £90 to come out.

It's turning over and is that millisecond away from starting, but it doesn't does. It's chugging over but just lacks that little oomph to get going.

Can anyone help?

have you checked the battery in your remote cl? If it's dead then the immobiliser will not be turned off and you'd get the 'turning over but not catching' thing

Did your battery go flat? Sometimes this will 'lose' the data from the chip in your key. Look in your manual and see what it says about 'coding' your key to the engine.
I'd check this out before starting a small bommy under the van.

Battery didn't go flat, as far as I'm aware, I had it on charge yesterday and after a few hours the battery charger proudly proclaimed "fully charged".

That spray didn't work.

I'm gonna ring Green Flag, be up front and honest and join up and ask for a call out straight away. It's £60 for home cover with them, £90 EXTRA (on my normal AA membership) with the AA.

May as well get someone round who knows what they're doing and has the equipment to do it. Got my Barclaycard at the ready :o(
