Just watching the game between our old friends at Wealdstone against Solihull Moors. It showed the league table in the build up, and it's surprising just how many clubs are down there that would have been thought of as established football league clubs not much more than a decade ago. Aldershot, Southend, Stockport, Grimsby, Torquay, Chesterfield, Notts County, Wrexham.

Conference is a tough league to get out of, especially as a lot of team are now pro.

If you drop down to Conference North/South you also have York City, Boston United, Darlington, Chester City, Hereford & Maidstone United

Notts Co has had a rough go. They were bought out, what a year after we were (?), hired Sven, promised to spend a boatload of money, brought in some high profile signings (Sol Campbell I think?) ... and it was all for show.

Wrexham, oddly enough, is now co-owned by Ryan Reynolds and one of the actors from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. From afar they seem to be fairly involved in promoting the club, interacting with the fanbase, and investing into the club. So maybe we'll see them move up shortly.

Two of them were only short stay and getting into the football league bankrupt then, as did Hereford the last time they were up. Icarus teams, like Kidderminster too.

That Sol Campbell episode was strange. One game in charge. Was he given false promises about money available for transfers. Or did he take a look and thought it an impossible job?
