Var debate 2019/20

You forgot the lines pal. He's further off than Pukki & Sterling were in similar situations.

To be fair, neither of those are accurate, on both of them the lines are quite clearly skewed. Whoever did them doesn’t understand perspective, which is why if you look at the first one on the line, it starts about a fifth of the way into the darker patch and ends up a third of the way into it. The second one is even more dodgy, given they’ve just done it as a straight line perpendicular to the left side and ended up with a huge diagonal on the right.

They actually back up Salah being onside given the manipulation required to make it look like he isn’t, so I wouldn’t be using those as proof!

Im not sure if he was or wasn’t as the findings weren’t fully show, which is dodgy itself. I err on it not being a conspiracy though, given they’ve had ample other occasions and not done similar.

Its conflicting with lines as well though mate.

But for that very reason I agree, a transparent VAR-check was sorely lacking.
That was sky's line that took the 30 mins to make up,it is not a var checklook at the grass,it's clearly not a proper line,a statement was put out during the game that var had checked it,it was given in a few secs which is not possible for a full var check, the won't show us the check and it was every bit as close as the ones in other games, they were caught in a lie

VAR Makers say its use "should not be forensic"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50944416

"If video evidence shows that a player was in an offside position, he was offside full stop. If it's not obvious, then the decision cannot be changed, you stay with the original decision."

Talk about making things even more ambiguous. So even if VAR show a player to be offside by the letter of the law, there are times when this cannot be given because someone has deemed it not "obvious".

Funny how the Beeb are hammering the Mousset offside as the prime example that needs to be changed with regards to not using VAR so forensically when it was the most obvious offside overturned all weekend. Not using the Pukki or Sterling ones but one to try and paint us as the beneficiaries when it was clearly one with daylight so correct to overturn it.

It's the one call everyone could agree was clear and obvious to overturn yet it's the one used above all others to supposedly demonstrate where VAR is "wrong". Typical media. Nothing will change with their changes except Sterling will still be screwed but Mousset's would have counted.

I remember that. I'm not arguing against the people officiating or running VAR being incompetent. I think they are.
Im arguing against people here yelling "conspiracy" every time something happen involving either us or teams they don't like.

I'm also arguing against the hostility shown towards the people that don't share their opinion
They have every single view,it was clear to the naked eye,MOTD and pundits agreed, they lied not having the right angle, why do they keep lying?

That is how it should look against the grass though

The thing is we can all see liverpool are a very good team, but they have been directly involved in many decisions reference diving, offsides for and against given/not given, and constant fouls and their players not being penalised, and let’s not forget they have been involved in many games with one goal margins where those decisions are vital.

In my opinion due to our very indifferent form we would still be behind them, but there would be a 3/6 point margin involved instead of where we find ourselves now.

I really find it hard to understand that genuine posters think there has been a level playing field this season regarding City and liverpool, the decisions are so obviously weighted for one team it’s just blatant now.

My thoughts too. Even if the point margin was 8-9 the situation would be different.
