I wonder how the Premier league officials will react to the dip in the renewal of season tickets come May. Not only is VAR ruining the spontaneity of the game but the match attending fan is second class in terms of the knowledge of the incident.
Once they've stopped coming they won't be back.

I’m not going to jib my ticket next season but I will eventually unless it becomes completely transparent. ie on the big screen in the ground with the ref miked up so the public can hear the discussion, with the ref making the final decision.

sure there will be a lot of noise and antagonistic reaction, but is that any worse than we are seeing now?

the fan groups should club together and demand respect, because without us the game is dead

It can get fucked,one look was enough to see he was onside,they spent nearly 3 mins trying to engineer an angle to disallow it,it's been the same every time on us all season,not seeing the players celebrate is gutting,they work so hard,we have known since spurs we weren't go to get a fair crack with it
Bring in a time limit or let the ref look ffs,grrr

It just needs scrapping but if players can’t celebrate now it really is over , maybe they should make a stand on this , it really must be horrendous for them .

Might depend on how many of those not renewing tell the clubs that VAR is the reason.

stones shot but it clipper THB on the way in. It looked tight whether he was onside or not but within 10 seconds you could see he was JUST on. why they had to keep pissing about with the lines for a few minutes ive no idea.

as has been said, it was like they were searching for an excuse not to give it

For me VAR was much better applied today by the FA following IFAB ryles than the shitshow in the prem.

Yes the checking was still too long, but the on screen info was up straight away and the still shot of the offside shown so we knew what was checked.

Also not every offside was checked only ones where the ref looked to be wrong so a clear and present error.

Still needs improvement, but much more efficient than the fuckwits in the prem making it up as they go along.

The prob with that is offsides are the area where most mistakes are made, so they should stay in VAR
To make it work, you can either change the offside law, i.e. go back to clear 'daylight' or use foot position only or you can alter the VAR interpretation e.g. 'Refs call' when it is very close. Both routes would improve matters.
The ref on the field should stay in charge.

But the problem is they cant say exactly, or are choosing not to, when the ball leaves the passers foot.
So, daylight, foot only, it doesnt matter. Its just moving the line somewhere else to get wrong

Still struggling to understand the concept that some games used VAR and others didn’t. You can’t have a competition which has different laws dependent on where the game is played. Either all games have it or none at all. It’s just wrong the way it is being used or not as the case may be. And why despite two goals, five subs and at least two minutes messing around with VAR were only three minutes added on?
