I'm afraid the game of Association Football has changed forever..
We will not be going back to the days before VAR..
The cynic in me says, the people in charge of VAR know exactly what they are doing regarding the controversial calls they have dished out, they're testing the water to see how far they can push it before the shit hits the fan..
The Premier League is a product, just like McDonalds which is being marketed worldwide..
'Fans' in the Far East and beyond who have no connection with a UK based Football Club but who want to be connected by association are the ones being targeted by the Premier League Brand..
These new fans do not want to put in the hard yards supporting a team that hasn't or probably will never be successful, like many today, they want it now..
VAR is a perfect tool to allow the powers that be to manipulate games to keep overseas fans interested and subscribed..
The biggest clubs therefore will continue to benifit from, let's say, favourable decisions to keep the worldwide market place placated..
Kick off times will eventually become later in the summer months to co-inside with the world clock.
Two halves of football will eventually become 4 quarters to service additional advertisement breaks to target the new audience (won't call them supporters or fans)..
I'm rambling on and probably being far too cynical for a Sunday morning.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong but fear this is where we are heading..
Off downstairs to put some toast on..!
