Just wondering, have City benefited from any key decisions being given by VAR in comparison to other teams at the top?

By key decisions I mean red cards or a pen when the game is 0-0 or we are a goal down to get us back into it. It’s all well and good getting a VAR decision when we’re cruising in a game but it just seems to me that we haven’t had any real game changing decisions in our favour, especially compared to our main rivals ..?

Before VAR and with VAR the outcome is overwhelmingly the same.
 
I wonder if the media darling history clubs in the other European leagues are getting helping hands from VAR as well, i’ve A feeling this could be a Europe wide ‘project’.

Maybe the managers can be given "challenge flags" like they use in American Football. When a manager wants to challenge the referee, he can throw the flag. It seems to be picking incidents that happen in our penalty area and scrutinising then forensically, and as soon as we carry the ball over the halfway line the fucking system is turned off, and if we do get the ball in the net then VAR makes a miraculous return and tries desperately to overturn it. There was an incident in the Mersey derby where the best Dutch player ever to grace the PL trapped Calvert-Whatnot's foot and sent him tumbling, never touched the ball, and a clear pen - nothing given. Sissoko, in the Rags-Spurs game makes an identical challenge on Rashford who, two steps further on than C-L, goes down - ref awards the pen, no reference to VAR. I haven't seen the Bernardo tackle but I am informed that it seems rather identical to the VvD tackle on C-L. Identical challenges but very different outcomes. No doubt Old Mother Riley will have his usual mealy-mouthed explanation at the end of the month!
 
Personally, I would be happy if they would scrap the entire VAR system but that won't happen. I don't believe VAR was brought in to do what it is currently doing. I'm not sure why it was brought in. An area that I would use it would be on the diving. Diving is cheating and can have an impact on a player being red carded when they did nothing. So the teams and the players can be greatly effected by this type of play and that is where I would use VAR. The referees are pretty good at calling the game. There have been exceptions but very few considering how many games are played.

It’s always been like this but it’s harder to stomach with VAR, decisions given for against get blamed on refs being unsighted. Naively we thought that VAR would correct obvious mistakes (cheating) but we need to do it ourselves. When we won 198 points & 7 trophy’s in 2 seasons the refs were abysmal but we were that good, fck em let’s back to the levels we were, that’s why Pep won’t call out the cheating.
