Exactly this. It simply moves the line we all argue over further forward. We’ll still be arguing whether there was daylight at the point of the pass.

I hate it with every fibre of my being.

Only sensible idea I’ve seen (moving in the right direction) is to limit to 2 VAR interventions per team. I presume if you request an intervention and are proven correct, you’d get to keep (similar to Cricket)

No way is that sensible! Late in the game a team is holding on to a lead with 2 appeals left what do you think they will do to break momentum? Plus in most games VAR doesn’t get involved

Bet they said that when offside was introduced It’s a great idea as it gives the initiative back to the attacking team so hopefully we see more goals

It’s more than just time it’s about slowing the momentum of the game frustrating the opponent it will speed the game up which a clock won’t but we should have both imho

Just to put this into perspective, this is a league that consists of 8 teams and I ( living in Toronto) had never heard of it until I saw this post.
The people in charge of enforcing the rule will be hung over drywallers playing at being a linesman on the weekend.
I saw more competitive games on Ten Acres from my Nan's back garden.

That’s quite a nuanced/low probability view of the downside. With footballers complaining about most decisions, I personally think the chances of getting to late in a game without each side having already used their 2 VAR interventions is slim to none, and it would be very wasteful to simply use them for time wasting, when there are so many other ways to time waste. Fernandes would have used the rags allotment in the first two decisions against them.
 
Just on-field ref award penalties and refuse to go to the screen and listen to some bollocks from 100 miles away - have the bollocks to stand by your ground - the game has rules just enforce them

I said they would be used to break momentum

As respect to time wasting new regulations on getting the ball back in play are being introduced for next season, similar to the GK holding on to the ball for a maximum time

Not many of those instances is where an intervention would be used, surely it would be limited to what VAR looks at now?

So, how would suggest it would work?
Take the game at Leeds as an example where would you suggest that both teams would have used them?

You think that there would be 4 interventions used up before the game ends? The consequentially delay element would be significant.

We haven’t won 6 titles since VAR came in and the rags have been that shit for years, the best VAR could’ve done for them was to keep them up.

I thought I heard Neville say during the arsenal match that he was looking at the " foul" on Sanchez for the Timber goal on the VAR tv screen. I may have misheard him but he was able to say that the goal was going to stand long before it was announced
