VAR Discussion Thread

In the stadium the other night no fucker had a clue what was going on, it was a joke, bin it for me just go back to human error, I can live with that.
We were fucked over before Var and we are fucked over with Var.
The only difference is, in the old days I didn't sit in the stadium wondering if I'll be home before midnight. That farce (the Bernie sending off) was an absolute shit show.
No one near me knew was happening and I'm not sure the referee did either.

Plus, I do honestly believe the tv companies will negotiate the next contract to include advert breaks.

Keep the Goal line technology, automated offsides (but bin the linesmen keeping their flags down)
Everything else is too subjective and needs getting rid of. The damage that it's done to the game in pursuit of small percentage increases in correct decisions is criminal

A crock of shit which has simply empowered PGMOL to fuck the game over completely

The automated offside system isnt reliable. Ruben floating in mid air versus Newcastle showed that. If it can be show to work properly then fine.

I predicted this on here about a decade ago.the usa influence in marketing the game was already in full swing . Grounds became stadiums ,kick offs at all times to sort global audience, loss of identity ,rising prices.and matches lasting all day/ night to keep customers ,sorry fans,in the ground longer for advertising and hot dogs ..rampant commercialization.sell sell sell.

I did predict "Football will Eat itself". ,and the obsession with the powers that be to have total control over every single decision on field and the way they exercise such mind numbing dissection of every passage of play...yawn.its like watching a maths lesson back at school.

Refs are all superstars now ,little hitlers and they can't even keep up with play and I don't know what their assistants get paid for as they do FA ,and if they do try and influence the game they are over ruled or ignored anyway .

Fans need to abandon their clubs ,and get season tickets for stockley park.

That's where all the action and ' drama' is these days.and it's ....Live.

Dunno if they'll do it today. ITV have started showing ads in between breaks of play in their Rugby coverage and said they'll do it for their World Cup games too.

The sooner the broadcasters are fucked off and clubs stream their own games the better. It will be pay-per-view with no adverts and a price cap. Clubs can sell season tickets for live away match broadcasts. The legacy TV firms have crapped on matchgoing fans for years. SKY, BBC, ITV and the rest are a stain on football.

I doubt it will happen.

Sky must have something hanging over MPs to keep the PL rights in the UK otherwise someone else would have taken most of their packages by now.

The technology will force it to happen. The PL is just giving its product away to a third party. Most people only want to watch the team they support. They don’t want a diet of LFC and MUFC propaganda. The licence fee can’t survive either. Tyson fury can earn £50m from one fight. The clubs will not tolerate being ripped off. The PL will have its own channel and eventually the clubs will have their own channels.

The cynic in me thinks UEFA have called the meeting because Adidas will no longer be the CL ball suppliers.

Nike and Puma have put in bigger bids.

Adidas currently own their goal line and semi automated offside technology.

They may well have to switch to systems used in the PL/La Liga which will fuck us even more.

Annoyingly quick to dismiss the 'potential' red card today. I don't think Trafford would have been shown the same leniency at the other end.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen a keeper pull a forward back with an obvious open goal whilst in control of the ball get penalised for the foul and not sent off before.
