VAR Thread - 2021/22

The VAR refs should not be following the game. It wouldn't be perfect but they should be shown the incident in isolation. They then have to make their decision without knowing the effect on the game.

Still wont stop them favouring the red tops

We see this sort of incompetence/corruption at every single game that involves the redshirts. Decade after decade this has been going on. The way they use var has made things a 100% worse because they can do whatever the fuck they want with it, no questions. We, the football fans, cannot ask why a referee reached a certain decision; Nor can the club managers or officials ask either. If a manager does dare to question a decision he risks being fined for 'bringing the game into disrepute.'

The future of every club in the Premier league is decided by one man. Just think about the sheer imbecility of that situation.

All well and good talking about the foul on Kev by Romeu being outside the box but he's not the one that they should be looking at. The penalty should have been given for when the defender (#22) stamped on top of Kev's foot after he had made his way into the box.
Even more worrying is that the ref deemed neither challenge worthy of a free kick nor the one on Phil by Ward Prowse. That's two blatant free kicks or one free kick and a penalty on the edge of the box at a time where we were looking for a winner. How could he not give either?

And the snip of video they see is where the two teams have swapped their shirts. The minute they see Raz or Bernardo cleaned out for a stoner they start their incessant 'umming 'n 'aaarrin'! If we had the oppos shirts we'd be getting a pen a game.

The quality of refereeing in England is terrible. It's just as bad in the championship without VAR. Minor celebrities who enjoy the spotlight a bit too much, and get drawn into "narratives" a bit too easily. This is made worse by the football media being full of former players who played 25 years ago and apparently didn't know the laws of the game but did know what they could and couldn't get away with. VAR has made the refereeing problem worse, the league has done a terrible job of communicating what it can and can't intervene on - "clear and obvious" was always a stupid phrase - and pundits are then making everything murkier. It's a real mess.

In my opinion if there isn't a reaction from PGMOL after those 2 blatantly wrong decisions going in favour of the dippers , then it is clear that they are sticking two fingers up firmly to all football fans, and the explanation of incompetence is totally wrong.

Using VAR correctly should have seen both goals disallowed , but once again either the dippers receive decisions in their favour.

The PL clearly want a competitive league and PiGMOL are imo used to ensure exactly that .

I don't believe that incompetence is the explanation for these incidents, despite all teams suffering from them, because they happen too often in favour of certain teams .
