Just a small point, but I think with the FA Cup there should be VAR for all or no-VAR for all - within the same round, even if it means VAR only comes in at the semi-final stage. It just doesn't seem right that there was VAR at the Liverpool game and no VAR at the Wrexham v Sheffield game in the same round of the competition

Agree how can you have a competition played to different rules depending on the stadium.

We are having just as many controversial decisions now VAR is here as we ever had.....fuck it off and go back to instant refereeing good or bad, I detest this fuckin farce every week !

The bizarre implementation of VAR sees them allowed to go back dozens of seconds to rule out goals, looking for the slightest moment in the build-up or a hint of offside. But they can’t go back and send off a player for an elbow to the side of the head or a lunging tackle from behind on someone’s Achilles as that’s ‘interfering’.

I predicted the quality of officiating would decline due to VAR back in 2018. It is an unintended consequence.... None decision making hands it off feild and deflects blame... It's human nature and why VAR in the current form won't work.
In addition, Webs dictat that VAR should not get overly involved means the none decisions are never over turned...
A direct result of this is dangerous tackles going unpunished and potential injuries.
Excellent point

To be fair, there was VAR for the Liverpool v Wolves game at Anfield but they just decided not to use it..

Not once but twice..!

Karma that the cheating twats got knocked out today..!

It didn’t do that in either code of rugby though.

VAR is being used incorrectly, referees aren’t reffing properly because of VAR. it’s a viscous cycle of wrongly implementing it from both sides.
VAR should be independent of PGMOL, too much backing of their mates going on.
And how anyone can deny the existence of certain club bias after that cult game is beyond me
With the millions sloshing round tbe PL, hire the very elite retiree refs from Germany, Spain, France, Italy etc to review. They have no dog in the fight

Nothing ever changes. The Var lovers won't come on today, they always wait at least one day. Then it's 'didn't see it I was at the shops but.....' 26 pages later when everyone has lost the will to live and we are bored into submission, the thread fies until the next match. The fan comments on the bbc match report is worth reading, scouse match obviously, hundreds of posts calling out what it is, blatant cheating.
