Always hated it but i'd keep it for penalties/red cards as that doesn't delay goal celebrations.

As for offsides, if a linesman can't tell if a player is offside or not then there's no obvious advantage being gained so give the benefit of the doubt to the attacking player. This whole thing of goals being disallowed because the player didn't cut his toenails the night before has made it all a right fucking farce.
